I hate to review this place as two stars as I really wanted it to be good. We just moved to Nordeast from South. The difference in food options is night and day. South has so much variety and quality. Nordeast doesn't have the same huge geographic area to cover, so I can understand that point. Quality will be determined once we are able to try out some places.
The chow mein was about as good as the canned stuff. I picked it up, rode my bike home on 18th Avenue. This is about a 10 minute ride at most. I dished out the food for myself and my daughter. The first thing I noticed was the chicken was grouped on top of the dish and it had this ""canned"" smell to it. It is the canned chicken diced up in tiny cubes and the prepackaged ""crunchies"" as my daughter calls them is lame. The food was hardly warm at all. It is cheap but really, it was more expensive to go there than down to Rainbow for that classic double can chow mein. I don't think we'll be using this place much if at all. Again, I really wanted to like this place. Any neighborhood eatery near my home base is a great thing unless it dishes up microwaved canned food. My meal was ordered and in my hands just as fast as a McDonalds---I would rather wait 10-15 minutes, like at Kongs down on Lake St and 30th....Now they make a damn good meal!!
