Jung's Chow Mein. The ""fast food"" chow mein outfit. 4/18/2012

I hate to review this place as two stars as I really wanted it to be good. We just moved to Nordeast from South. The difference in food options is night and day. South has so much variety and quality. Nordeast doesn't have the same huge geographic area to cover, so I can understand that point. Quality will be determined once we are able to try out some places. The chow mein was about as good as the canned stuff. I picked it up, rode my bike home on 18th Avenue. This is about a 10 minute ride at most. I dished out the food for myself and my daughter. The first thing I noticed was the chicken was grouped on top of the dish and it had this ""canned"" smell to it. It is the canned chicken diced up in tiny cubes and the prepackaged ""crunchies"" as my daughter calls them is lame. The food was hardly warm at all. It is cheap but really, it was more expensive to go there than down to Rainbow for that classic double can chow mein. I don't think we'll be using this place much if at all. Again, I really wanted to like this place. Any neighborhood eatery near my home base is a great thing unless it dishes up microwaved canned food. My meal was ordered and in my hands just as fast as a McDonalds---I would rather wait 10-15 minutes, like at Kongs down on Lake St and 30th....Now they make a damn good meal!! more

Yep. Pretty Bad. 9/28/2010

Straight nast. Don't do it. This may have been good food 40 years ago when these people perhaps cared...but yeah, not now, this was the worst. more

best chow mein in the twin cities 3/29/2009

i have been going to jung's for over 40 years. as a child my extended family had jung's for lunch every sunday after church. i still love it and so does my family ! it has the best chow mein, egg foo yung, egg rolls, kung po chicken and everythijng else on the menu is outstanding ! it's a well established neighborhood business that doesn't need to be a part of a franchise to be the ""best in town"" Pros: best chicken chow mein more

Best lo mein in town 4/19/2008

Jungs has the best lo mein the twin cities. Their fried rice is excellent as well. This little hole in the wall has unbelievable lo mein for very reasonable prices. Try the combination - shrimp, pork, beef, and chicken Pros: Food quality/taste Cons: Take out only more

Disgusting 1/30/2008

This was hands down the most disgusting food I've ever had in my life. I was surprised by the good reviews that it had gotten, because I definitely didn't have that experience. The food was barely edible, didn't even resemble what we had ordered, and was filled with meats and vegetables that had been processed and reprocessed to the point that they could have passed for dog food. The egg rolls were the only things that we found we could keep down, but they tasted like something one could get out of a grocer's freezer. Don't waste your time with this place...wander down the street to Que Viet and get a taste the real good stuff. Cons: Food was beyond terrible more
