This is a perfect place for a quick bite as well as getting all that you need for a week. They have an amazing deli in here that has great sandwiches. more

Anyone that enjoys food needs to go here 6/23/2011

Go there. Seriously. You'll feel like a kid in a candy store. You can get lost in there in a way that makes you smile.\r \r Selection: Unmatched.\r Quality: Great overall. My one and only complaint is seafood. Live fish are not filtered well. Some of the frozen fish such as mackerel still have the guts in them so they taste like crap, literally, by the time you have them completely thawed.\r Prices: Competative, some slightly higher, some slightly lower.\r Cheeses: It helps to have an idea of what you want before showing up. The selection can be a little challenging, though they do have an area set aside for cheeses you'd find at your local grocery\r \r Wine selection is extensive also. They have everyday wines, and aged wines for thousands that are peaking.\r \r They also offer classes that are great for anyone that feels a little discouraged or wants to get a little brush up on their home cooking more

You have GOT to shop here! 12/25/2010

This store is a total trip! and absolutely unique in our experience. Yes, there is food -- so beautifully arranged it's like viewing art -- and there are So many different choices from countries around the world that it's amazing and even a bit overwhelming. The first time we came here, we just walked around in a daze because there are so many different things -- all fun and unique -- to take in...from such a broad range of selections for anything that you just don't know what to try, to the entertaining decor (like NO other place we have ever seen!!), to -- everything! Even when your children are with you, shopping is painless because they're as entertained as you are mesmerized! GO!!!! more

I love Jungle Jim's!! 12/19/2010

I shop at Jungle Jim's about 3-5 times a week. I am never disappointed with the produce or meat, and the sheer availability of diverse food has greatly increased my enjoyment of cooking. Because I am a regular shopper, I have noticed that there seems to be a very high staff-retention, which shows that it isn't just a great place to shop, but a great place to work for. In my experience, the staff in each department is usually well-suited for and knowledgable about their areas, and always helpful with any questions I may have. Also, Jungle Jim's has spoiled me - there is never a long wait when checking out and my kids love going!! If you haven't been to Jungle Jim's, check it out!!! You will not be disappointed. more

The ""jungle"" is a great place to shop for gourmet items 6/16/2008

I started shopping at Jungle Jims nearly 25 years ago and its been exciting to watch the Jungle grow into what it is today. Back in the early 1980s, the store could be described as a great produce stand with a good deli and wine shop; and the only place to go for asian food items like bok choy, lemon grass, fresh ginger, bulk rice, etc.--that today we take for granted because they can be found in most any grocery store. My daughter, who was only a few years old, loved to stop and listen to the singing Elvis gorilla. Since that time, Jungles has added food sections for almost every ethnic group, expanded its deli counter to possibly the size of the original store to include a vast selection of gourmet cheeses, meats, olive bar and bakery. The wine department is now almost a store in itself. If you cannot find what you need, just let someone know, and they will make sure to get it for you on your next stop. Also, you can't beat Jungle's prices for gourmet food items--I've been to many gourmet shops and the Jungle beats everyone's prices. Although I live in Chicago now and have the opportunity to shop at many great ethnic groceries, I still stop by Jungles anytime I am in Cincinnati. Pros: Great selection of items, prices good Cons: Grab a map of the store upon entering, or you might have difficulty more

I love jungle jims! the ONLY store i shop at with the kids!! 9/7/2007

we just moved to cincinnati a month ago and came across jungle jims by accident looking for a kroger at first we were not sure what it was, we thought it was some sort of amusement park! but once we went inside we loved it. I have 3 children and i NEVER take them grocery shopping with me because they get bored and complain but i have taken them with me every time i have been to jungle jims and they love it. i usually let them pick out a small sample bag of jelly belly jelly beans from back by the bakery on our way out and they love to get to choose form like 50 flavors of jelly beans. my kids also really enjoy feedign the ducks on the way out. i enjoy getting a starbucks frappachino and walking around getting all my grocerys i dont find them any more expensive than kroger. my kids have talked about jungle jims so much my family cannot wait until they can visit and see jungle jims for themselves........ Pros: HUGE selection, kids stay busy and don't complain, great clean bathrooms! Cons: the store is so big i feel like i still havent seen everything even after being there 10+ times more

international grocery store 3/3/2006

Jungle Jims is the place to be in if you are looking for an international market in this region. The interior is decorated like a jungle with huge statues of wild animals and big fountains. The flora and fauna of different regions is well depicted here. Each part of the store is well categorized. There are separate sections of international liquor and wines, seafood, dairy, cheese, spices, toiletries and also a food bar. The store is not divided into aisles. It is more like a treasure hunt where one section leads to the other. Fruits and vegetables from all over the world that are rare and uncommon are sold here. The speciality is the Asian produce group. Fresh seafood is another great section and you can choose your fish while they are still alive in the tank. The food bar has tasty mouth watering dishes which are sold by weight. This is one of the best stores around Cincinnati with a huge range of food items sold under one roof. PROS: competetive prices, great choices CONS: more

Selections beyond belief 11/25/2005

If you've seen it somewhere in the world or heard about it on TV or radio, chances are - they've got it, no matter how rare or weird this food might be. Tons of exotic fruit and vegetables from all over the world, wines, cheeses, meats, pastas, breads, sweets... you name it! The store just recently underwent an expansion, so the choices are even better! Cooking classes, wine tastings and samples available throughout the week make this place even more attractive! more

Visiting this place is like a trip around the world! 11/16/2005

I love the variety that Jungle Jim's offers! There is something for everyone here! Going to the shop is a day long trip. There is so much to look at! My son loves looking around the store as well. A friend of mine who is allergic to wheat would get a variety of wheat free foods here, like waffles, noodles, etc. You name it, they had it. It made her allergy more tolerable. Those are just things that you can't find in a normal supermarket. more

Fun place to shop 11/11/2005

"Hey boys and girls, welcome to the Jungle" Once you have heard this voice you will never forget it. Shopping at Jungle Jim's is an experience like no other, one trip and you are hooked. People come from miles to experience this store. Not your typical grocery, Jungle Jim's is a shopping adventure. You simply cannot get a wider variety of ethnic or regional food anywhere. The produce could not be any fresher. The bakery items are delicious. The "markets" from around the world bring a slice of culture to Cincinnati. You can find just about any food item (in the world - seriously). The huge singing puppets (including Elvis!) and displays entertain kids of all ages as you wind through the store more

What a COOL store! 11/10/2005

Jungle Jim's is like no other grocery store you've ever been to. We've actually brought out of town guests here for entertainment! There are animatronic characters like a gorilla dressed as Elvis that sing as you pass by. A HUGE huge HUGE selection of food items from all over the world! Lots of samples and tastings available. Looking for that hard to find imported item? Bet you can find it here. Reasonable prices too! Very crowded on weekends. more

Absolutely the best worldwide selection ever 11/9/2005

Jungle Jim's was even featured on NPR news due to its unique selling point of having goods from different regions of the world under one roof. The store has everything that you might possibly need if you are shopping for groceries. There are complete ailes or sections devoted to food/googs from India, England, China, Malaysia, Thailand, France, Germany, Italy, Mexicoand a lot of other places. Besides this, their fruits/vegetables section is unmatched in the tri-state area. There are even certain exotic fruits such as the 'durian' which one would be hard pressed to find anywhere else. All vegetables have information cards and recipe cards which make selection easier. The store also has a post office and a toy train ride for kids. There are mechanical toys all around the store that keep kids enthralled. All in all, this is a shopping experience like no other! more

whoa! best grocery! 11/3/2005

Jungle Jims is probably one of best grocery place I've been to. They have everything from American products to any foreign ones. Their place is like a museum featuring different things that kids would enjoy. I have young cousins and they enjoy going to Jungle Jims. Them going to Jungle Jims is like going to a playground or something. It's not just the place, their food are fresh. Especially the fruits and vegetables. Ofcourse, many people would think that they are extravagant because of the actual location. They are cheap too almost everything are the lowest price you would find in Cincinnati. They almost have everything that you need! Anybody that has never been to this grocery is missing out! more

We drive an hour to go grocery shopping 10/24/2005

I highly recommend this grocery store. Not only does it carry just about any type of food you could want (including hard to find international items) but it is entertaining as well. They have quite a few animatronic displays to keep children enthralled while the parents shop. My kids love the lion dressed as Elvis that sings Elvis songs. However the main reason I shop there is that they have a large health food section and the prices and selection are much better than I can find up here. more

grocer 9/7/2005

This place is something else. It has grown alot through the years. Kids love it. They have the outside sit up something like a small jungle with huge cement animals. They have evry kind of food liquor, beer, produce etc. that you can think of. It is from all over the world. I am amazed when I go in there. It is huge since they have built on. The way they have it set up in different sections. They have alot of good deals in there also. But some of there products are expensive(very). If there is some kind of food that you cannot find any place else if you go there you will find it. They have a lot of parking. more

The Funnest grocery store around 9/1/2005

Jungle jims is in the middle of adding a tram ride to there already fun store, Kids love this place they have life size statues of your favorite advertisement caracters and the whole store is a great experiance. Jungle jims is great for hard to find reginal items and ethnic foods. PROS: fun CONS: more

Fantastic Selection of Food, Wine and Much More 8/3/2005

This is the greatest store to shop at. They carry so many interesting items that you just can't find anywhere else. They have items from many countries. The wine department is very large and has many fine wines. They also have a large organic section. Highly recommend. Great weekly sales worth the trip more

Jungle Jims is the greatest! 7/31/2005

They have everything! Their wine selection is huge, their produce section is huge, they carry tons of ethnic foods and items from different countries. And as if all of that wasn't good enough, the prices are great too! IT usually takes me about 40 minutes to drive to this market, so I don;t make it up there as often as I like, but thankfully they are building one closer to me that should be open in about a year. more

Jungle Jim's 6/28/2005

I would recommend this store to anyone. Sometimes I go just for fun. They carry almost everything under the sun and if you go on a good day they have so many free samples there is almost no need for dinner. Most of the items are categorized by country but they have a wonderful fresh fish section with huge tanks filled with fish, crab, and lobsters bigger than I have ever seen. The Olive Bar and Bakery are extraordinary. Occasionally they will have a good sale on soda but as far as I've seen the prices are average and it's really too big to do your regular shopping at. If your looking for something different such as snake, ostrich, or ??? this is the place to go. more
