Junaluska Animal Hospital

The front desk ladies are very rude at this animal hospital! I was going to get my cat neutered here and the lady huffed and puffed and sighed the whole time setting up the appointment, like I was causing her a great deal of trauma. Another time my friend adopted a cat but was unsure which animal hospital the shelter had taken it to for neutering. We went to Junaluska first and the receptionist scoffed and laughed in our faces that we had went to the wrong hospital. My friend asked if she had the number to the closest vet to see if the cat was there, and again she made it a big deal just to look up the number. The veterinarians aren't terrible, but lack personality. The one decent person that worked there was the groomer, Chad. He was great with the animals, my dogs loved him. He worked there for almost 10 years and they fired him when they found out he didn't have his high school diploma. Overall, a rude and uncaring facility. My boyfriend and I took both of our Dobermans to have their ears cropped and If I had to do it all over again, I would go somewhere else. I dont care if JAH is on the cheaper end of the spectrum. The staff at JAH are pushy and could care less about you! Our first Doberman's ears were cut by Dr. Paul and then later posted by Dr. Snyder. Dr Snyder ruined her ears! Her right ear flops over her head and we may never get it to stand right due to the way he posted them, they can blame it on her ears all they want to! Our 2nd Doberman just had his ears done and I will be so glad when I can be done with these people! I would not recommend taking your pets there, to them you are just another person in line! more

Their inability to correctly diagnose parvo killed my puppy. I will never set foot in that place ever again. I drive to Asheville to go to CHARLOTTE STREET ANIMAL HOSPITAL. CSAH did everything they could to save my baby but it was too late by the time JAH had weakened her by treating her for worms in error. more

I had a simple procedure performed on my dog at this vet(ear cropping). I had concerns from the first day I walked through the door. I was not considered a "local" and the staff were short with my family & myself. They wanted me to just leave my dog eventhough I wanted to speak with the vet that was going to be cutting on him. They did after a short time let me do this. I returned to this vet 3 times after the procedure, each time getting treated worse and worse, the final day was when Dr. Snyder walked into the room and informed me that my dog was "lazy" and he was not wasting his time on him anymore. I feel sorry for the people that aren't local and move to this small town, you will be treated very poor...By the way I took my dog to his regular vet who in turn recommended another vet and he is now doing great! more

I love JAH!! They are wonderful. Everybody knows your babies when you go in...(Maybe I go too much!!). Front desk, vet techs, and vets are all wonderful! more

They take time to spend with us and our animals to answer our questions - I never feel rushed. They are very kind and gentle with our pets. They offer evening hours twice a week which is very helpful. more

We stumbled upon this vet when we moved to the area and have been very pleased with the level of service my 2 dogs have received. The staff is very friendly and truly like their job. The wait is never very long and the team of doctors are very competent and compassionate. I believe the prices on their services are better than most and they always explain all your options. They also are wonderful with reminding you what servies are due for your animals which is one less thing to worry about. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a caring vet. more

The staff at Junaluska Animal Hospital is so friendly and compassionate. When we had to have our cat put down they were so kind to us. We got to visit with him and tell him goodbye so we could have some "closure". PROS: Kind staff CONS: nothing more

The place is clean and has good people to take care of your animals. They do excellent work and are very knowledgeable with the care of animals. They also do larger animals such as horses. Prices are very good. more
