I have had many expereinces with different dry cleaners and alterations business but none can even come close to the quality and customer service that Julius provided me. My girlfriend and I were going to the Charleston Affair (yesterday) and I had unfortunately forgotten that I needed to get a new jacket and trousers that I had gotten altered as they were just too big. Needless to say I was taking some heat for letting the alterations slip my mind. So on Friday evening after I got off from work I was scrambling to find a place that could alter my suit jacket and trousers for the party the very next day! I called several places and they told me that there was no way that they would be able to help me out. Needless to to say I was beyond frustrated, and with the tempest (my girlfriend) beginning to rise I was getting really desperate. I finally found Julius and all of the wonderful reviews below. I was skeptical. I gave them a call at 5:45pm on Friday seeing if they could help me out. The owner and his wife insisted that they could help me. Unfortunately I live downtown and as you can imagine, traffic over the ravenel bridge on Friday during rush hour was ridiculous. I called them again very disheartened that I knew I would not make it in time. The owner was very understanding and truly wanted to help me out. He said to come on in and to drive safely (I have never had someone tell me to drive safe when I am running late) which I found to be truly compassionate. Now if you recall I left at 5:45, I did not get there until 7:00pm and when I arrived the lights were off and it looked like I missed my window of opportunity. But, alas, they were i there and opened the door to flag me in. The owner and his wife were nothing but compassionate, friendly and undertsanding. They had stayed an hour after their closing time just to help me for an event the very next day. I assumed that they would rush me in an out so they could get started, but, the owner took his time and was very diligent even cracking some jokes with me as he pinned my jacket and trousers. Also, side note, I brought in an additional trousers that I needed to be altered (but not immediately) and a full suit that needed to be cleaned and pressed. He took all of my items and pinned both trousers and the jacket for me within 20 minutes and made me feel like a valued customer. My girlfriend and I, now relieved that we had avoided a near disaster, left with a smile on our face and a warm feeling that we were truly their most important customer. As we left, he said that it would be ready at 2:30 on saturday afternoon just in time for the party...When I got home I realized that I had forgotten one very important thing; to drop off my brand new, tags still on, dress shirt for it to be cleaned and ironed. I figured that they had already over extended themselves and I would not go back until tomorrow and hopefully they could help me out again. Sure enough, I arrived at 2:00pm with my dress shirt in hand and when I walked in the door I saw all of my articles altered and pressed and awaiting my arrival. I was floored at how amazing it came out. I then dropped the bomb on them.....one more favor, please?! He took my shirt with a smile and invited me to sit in the back with him as he ironed my shirt for me. He did not even charge me a cent for ironing my shirt but I insisted that I give him $10. Lastly, he did not mark up my prices or tag me with any rush charges for needing these alterations done in less than 24 hours. THEY ARE THE BEST! Not only did they help me out in my time of need but they went above and beyond to make me a satisfied customer. They have secured my business and I will be recommending them to everyone I know that has any emergency situations or who is sick of dealing with the lack of customer service in other places around town (cough, cough, Marias Alteraltions off of Folly Road, cough, cough). Thank you to everyone at Julius for being so great!
