Julian's Van Lines

They use good people to perform the move, but the office is so incompetent that you should never use this company. FIRST: The company overbooked my pickup date to make it impossible for the movers to complete all the jobs. I ended up being pushed back to the next day. SECOND: Although on the contract it showed that the job included moving a piano into a second floor destination, the office sent people who are not experts (or even authorized) to move pianos. Convinced they could not get the piano up the stairs, they left the job uncompleted by leaving the piano outside in the elements. THIRD: Naturally, I wished to get Julian's to solve the problem of the piano since it was their responsibility. Unfortunately the office seemed uninterested in helping. From day to day they provided promises and rescinded them, at one time trying to claim that this was not their fault, and wanting me to pay the new movers and send them the bill so that I could be reimbursed an unspecified amount. Eventually fed up with dealing with them, I got real movers to come move the piano upstairs. more

When I was scheduling the move, I thought they were professional. I was wrong. I was told that the movers would call 24 hours before to confirm, but I did not receive a call. I called them but all i got was a full voice mail box. The movers arrived late in a rented budget truck. They worked pretty fast, but didn't disassemble my furniture like i was told they would. Which took up more space in the truck. The final price about $800 higher than the estimated price. This was the last time I was actually able to talk to anyone from Julians. Two weeks go by, I call and write emails asking about the status of my items and no one replies back to me. Finally a lady replies back to an email and tells me to contact the dispatcher. I leave several messages to the dispatcher and no one calls me back. This went on for a week. I was really frustrated. When my items finally arrived after about a month. My C&B chairs were broken and some of my items were missing. They did not assemble any of the furniture. I am very upset myself for hiring Julian's. It was a big mistake. more

My boy friend used Julians Van Lines to move from a second floor two family home to a smaller apartment .\r Their service was so great that all what we did is sit back and watch everything that we were worrying about being handled so smoothly. I got the name from Julians Van Lines from my former neighbour because he was very happy with his move that was handled by them. I was convinced by him and I alsi hired them. Let me tell, it was a decision that I will never regret. Used Julians Van Lines for a Boston move. They were recommended from a neighbor. \r But I did my research, and called many local moving companies as well, and found Julians Van Lines to be very polite, and knowledgeable. My sister and I had to help our parents to move out of their three stories mansion (because they had entered their Golden Age) to a 3000 square feet one level luxury condominium in Boston. We were concerned about their delicate antique furniture and especially their three pianos (one is a grand piano).\r Julians Van Lines not only showed up on time but they had negotiated for us all the necessary permits with the city for their parking (to unload) and also spoke with the new condominium management company and complied with all their demands regarding moving in the new place common areas.\r We had to admit that if it was up to me and my sister, we would have forgotten many of the necessary arrangement of the move. I had a terrible experience in Sept 07 with Julian's Van Lines. The movers were the slowest, most unmotivated, laziest people I have ever seen. They complained the whole time and practically crawled through the move. Naturally, the move took almost twice as long as estimated and cost about 40% more than estimated (about $1000 rather than $650). When I spoke with Julian, the owner, he was unwilling to do anything for me and quite rude to boot. I would never use these guys again or recommend them to anyone. more
