J's Peter Pan Cleaners

I brought in a vintage dress that my Mother-in-Law made for a play in 1940. My daughter and I altered it for a play she will be in next week and I took it here to be pressed. I was afraid to have it cleaned because I was worried it wouldn't hold up well and we couldn't replace it. They did a fabulous job! There was a funny odor to the dress because it was in storage so long, so they gently cleaned it and pressed it and I can't believe how amazing it looks now. I had nothing to be afraid of! We're newly married couple & just recently closed our old checking accounts and opened a new joint account. Well, my husband accidentally wrote them a check from our old account & it bounced. Instead of calling us to let us know or sending us a bill, they discussed it with another one of their customers, who just so happened to be a police officer. So this officer shows up at our house & tells our babysitter that we bounced a check & that he'll be back next week looking for us. I have never felt so violated or harrased ever in my life. We went to pay the $70.00 bill and asked why they didn't just call us since our number was on the old checks or even send us a bill. We weren't rude or loud. They started talking another language & next thing you know a cop shows up & threatens to arrest my husband! My husband paid the bill & left. I also plan to write a letter to the Villa Park police department for the rude way that he treated my husband. Ultimately, the police is here to serve the citizens of their city, not harrase them! We usually go to Hafer Cleaners & they're great! Brian & Susan do a great job. Next time we'll wait till their back from vacation to do our drycleaning than go through this again!
