Joss Sushi 2/1/2007

Joss is certainly a very highly regarded sushi joint in Annapolis, there's no denying that. And we have certainly gone there on a number of occasions. I know the legions of Joss fans will likely burn me for this, but for some reason I am just not down with Joss. The service is fantastic, and the ambience reminds me of some of the older sushi places I have visited on in my travels to Japan. But I just think that the taste of the rice leaves me wishing for more. Don't get me wrong, Joss is a very good (3-star) place. But the taste of the sushi just does not stand up to Yin Yankee just down the street, or even Tsunami up on West Street. more

The only place I go 7/27/2005

Along busy Main Street in downtown Annapolis, Joss is the best of the best when it comes to sushi. You can sit at a table, or you can sit at the sushi bar and just watch the chefs quietly go about their business. Joss' is always busy, and always popular. You can also have your picture taken on your birthday and have it added to the thousands of pictures on the walls. They have the freshest sushi, the widest selection, and the friendliest staff of any sushi bar I have been to. They do everything but deliver! And, keep in mind for those in the crowd who don't like sushi, they have non-sushi items on their menu as well. I love Joss, and it's one of the things that makes me homesick for Annapolis! more

The best sushi in Annapolis 4/2/2005

When we're on a sushi rampage, my husband, Chris, and I sometimes visit Joss weekly for our sushi fix. This is by far the best sushi we have found -- very fresh fish, well cut, excellent rice, and a good variety. Joss doesn't go in for much that is faddish or trendy -- the sushi is straighforward and extremely tasty. The service is excellent and the wait-people are always happy to answer any questions. Seating can be a little tight -- especially on weekend evenings -- but it's a good way to get to know your neighbors. more
