Joseph's Italian Pastry Shop

A cake was purchased at Joseph's. My daughter brought the casata (excuse the spelling) cake to the restaurant where we were haing a large group for my birthday. The Sunday dinner at Max's was great, Then the cake was served... Dry, stale, not whipped cream, filling hard yet gummy, strange taste. Two piece were cut and stopped, why spoil a wonderful day. \r The cake was returned to Joseph's, no refund was given nor was an explanation for the horrible cake they offered to the public. All the people at the party will be told of the representation of your product by your so called bakery. \r \r NEVER AGAIN.............MC more

I so much want to Love Joseph's. What he makes is comfort food for me. The thing is, we have to be very careful about what we choose or what day we go. \r \r On some days, my favorite sandwich cookies taste like stale cigarette smoke and are inedible. When the tray is stock full, the cookies are generally fresh. When the tray is getting toward the end, watch out! \r \r This should never happen. Nobody wants to pay top dollar for stale cookies that taste like second hand smoke.\r \r Also, the chocolate rum balls have become sugar bombs. One should not feel the sugar crystals between one's teeth while eating these otherwise delicious treats.\r \r I recommend going on a weekend day or Friday evenings. Then you're bound to get the best of these authentic Italian goodies.\r \r Try the Italian Wedding Cookies or the Regina Cookies when they're fresh! more

Hey Guy now I am convinced you are from "DA" Bronx \r You are probably an ex prize fighter that did not have much of a creer either and are punch drunk and haven't recovered totally from your last fight !!\r \r You said you used to have so many places to buy pastry in your area , which by the way if near Joseph's is also my area, ALL the places you are talking about are were terrible , the worst I have ever had in fact They all looked good but had no taste at all kind of like you in fact !!\r Maybe that is why they all closed down Einstein !!\r Think about it !! and why do you think Joseph's is still open ??? Daaaaaaaaaaaah !!! Maybe because they are that good !!! more

I am Italian from New York City Have lived here for over 12 years in Florida and I have seen many an Italian Pastry Shop come and go and some still opened that are a mystery to me but Joseph's is no mystery at all.\r These guys are the best in south florida. If you are lucky you may find someone close or possibly maybe even as good but no one better for sure.\r They can even be compared to some shops in Manhattan and Brooklyn for sure !!!\r JC must be from Da Bronx !!!!! more

Well i think JC is so wrong,,, Josephs Pastry Shop has the BEST cannolis...they sure know what the hell they are doing with their cannolis and pastry,, i come from the North End of Boston and their products are simple the best here in Florida... I am wondering if the reviews I have read so far were submited by friends or relatives of Joseph's Bakery. I find their variety of cookies to all taste the same. The cannoli's are the worse I have ever had and I have had thousands in my lifetime since I love cannolis. The filling is very dry and they add way too much cinnamon. We use to have fabulous Italian bakeries in our area for dozens of years, but they all closed down. Joseph's is the only one around so I am forced to buy from them. The only items I find tasty are some of their pastries. I don't buy anything else there. more

The canolies are better than any I've had in New York City's Little Italy. Definitely worth the trip! more
