The food was excellent! My family and I went to Daddy's and we absolutely loved it. The food was great and the drinks were cold. We ordered the Whiskey Bay Fish Plate and it was soooo good. We also ordered The Veracruz which had a nice spicyness to it. They are also very affordable and have great customer service. We will go back everytime we visit South Padre. We were greeted and seated promptly. The bill was brought quickly. That is about all the good I can say about this place. Our beer was cool, not cold. The server brought our appetizers with our meal, after we specifically asked to receive them before the meal. The iced tea was very strong, both our table and our neighboring table asked for something else to drink. The server never brought my wife the water she requested. The cheese sticks were average, the shrimp bisque was average. My kids did enjoy their kids meals (fried fish for one, mac and cheese for the other). Server only brought silverware and napkins after he was reminded after he had served our meal and we were left to eat with our fingers. I just love this place. My friend took us there & everytime we go we have to stop there. I can't wait to go again. There fried crawfish is the best. I know my daughters really picky, but when it comes to this place she eats everything on her plate. Waiter was friendly and attentive, made good recommendations without us having to drag the information out of him. The shrimp fondue was fabulous, and the almondy fish with a side of roasted red potatoes will insure that I will include this place on my next trip to Padre. In Sept 2007 we vacationed for a month in South Padre and went to Daddys almost every day. They have and extensive menu. All the seafood and salads were delicious. The cajun food was absolutely out of this world! Portions were very generous. The service was outstanding! We highly recommend this restaurant. Will go back when we visit next time. more

The New Orleans style shrimp is the best!!! Big shrimp dipped in a hot spicy sause. It is always packed, but worth the wait. more

I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant in my entire life! Horrible customer-service attitude. The wait was ridiculously long and resulted in my party leaving. I will never attempt to go back. Cons: There is nothing worth going back for. more

Large parties BEWARE! Took a group of 11 (8 adults, 3children) to the restaurant for an early birthday celebration dinner on a Sunday afternoon in February. Waited for over an hour at the bar for the only large table in the restaurant to clear. Hostess assured us we were the next party for that table once it was freed up. Just as the table was available the Hostess informed us that the ""owner"" had called in to reserve the table for her friends. Yep....we were bumped with no regard for how long we had been waiting! The other party was paraded past us and took the seats. I will have nothing to do with an establishment that has no regard for the everyday customer and definitely will not recommend it. Nobody tried to offer any solutions and had a ""take it or leave it"" attitude. Makes me wonder what goes on in the kitchen where no one is watching. I will NOT step into this restaurant ever!!! Went to Blackbeard's down the street and we were seated in 5 minutes and had a wonderful meal. more

Great food. Service is good. Lunch is packed. This is owned by the same guy that has Dirty Als, but the food is completely different. more
