I wouldn't recommend Josephine's to a friend. 10/17/2011

Josephine's Alterations was not a professional atmospher, and the work was horrendous. I brought my wedding gown to have some beading added, and also to get some coverage in the back to cover the top of my tatoo. Josephine told me that I needed to get the beads, and the tulle for the coverage, no problem. I went and spent nearly 200 dollars on beautiful beads. The dress was to be completed in two and a half weeks. When I went to pick up the dress on a Saturday there was a closed sign on the door due to a death in the family. I am sorry for the loss, and figured I would pick it up the following weekend. The next weekend the same sign was still on the door and the shop remained closed. I started to get nervous. I called a few times and there was no answer. Finally the next weekend I called before driving down, and Josephine had ""forgotten to put my dress in her trunk"" It was at home, and she had lost my number and the tags (Which stated what was to be done onthe dress.) My fiance called and arranged that I would meet at her shop on Sunday. (That was yesterday) When I went to get the dress I was absolutely shocked. The ""Coverage"" looked like a clump/fan of tool stuck inbetween where my cleavage would be and it was the same in the back. It was pinned on, and not sewn, Joesephine quickly stitched it on as I stood in the shop. The stitched were visible and week enough that it fell off (Which actually was a good thing) The beadwork looked like it was done in home etc. class. There were loops sticking out from the dress on fishing wire. There are giant clumps of beads randomly placed around the bodice, not at all going along with the detail of the dress. Joesephine did not even use any of the beads I purchased but one pack, and it is obvious that was the largest size beads. Maybe Josephine's is good for hemming slacks, and that type of thing, but as far as for your wedding gown. DON'T DO IT! Thank god I didn't need it taken in, who knows what would have happened. By the way, ALL Alterations next to Walmart does amazing beadwork, and is fixing my dress. more
