Editorial review from Citysearch 7/24/2012

Having been to the Tujunga location before, I had the same expectations going into this one. Our fam held my daughter's baptism celebration here and I was quite impressed with the friendliness and overall quality of service. I'd say it's a tad bit better than the Tujunga location. Of course, the food was nothing short of excellent. I highly recommend the enchiladas...there's something about the sauce. As previously mentioned by others, the salsa is also good - it's not overpowering. more

An All-Around Favorite!! 8/8/2010

I have eaten at all the different ""big' name Mexican restaurants and that's all they have going for them is their name...and maybe their ""big"" prices. Joselito's, by far, is the absolute best!! Every meal is fresh to order and always served by warm, friendly servers. All meals are reasonably priced. It's great for a party of one or for a party of 40. Joselito's may be family owned business but every customer is treated like family. more

Great Taste 4/28/2010

Besides being a tad pricey for mexican food ( which is the same basic 5 ingredients) I love this place. Great taste with a nice and comfortable atmosphere. Pros: Authentic Cons: $$ more

Best Mexican Restaurant in Town! 10/19/2009

I'm a mexican, and this place is just like my mom's food 10/10/2009

The staff is awesome. The food is out of this world. and the drinks keep you coming for more! Pros: the yummiest margaritas in the valley! more

Just great food!!! 10/10/2009

I've tried a few different items and it's always excellent! Service is always good and atmosphere is very lovely too. Pros: Everything Cons: Not near me, but worth the drive! more

Don't be fooled by the locals! 10/9/2009

Don't be fooled by all of the locals padding the reviews for this place. This local frequents Joselito's for drinks and the decent chips & salsa. The food on the other hand is slightly better than Mexican food served in the midwest. Dare I say the nachos DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET at Steel Pit are better than this place! You can not cover up bad taste with piles of beans and rice. By all means, try it yourself. But don't go expecting a 5-star restaurant as the ratings would have you believe. Want Mexican in the area...head down to La Cabanita in Montrose. I'll give it 1/2 star for the drinks (they make a damn fine margarita, and the other 1/2 star because they support the local community. There...I said something nice! Pros: Only 'Mexican' restaurant in town Cons: Food more

AWESOME MEXICAN FOOD! 7/22/2009

Joselito's in Tujunga is an awesome family owned Mexican restaurant. I have referred many family members and friends there and they are NEVER disappointed. The atmosphere is perfect, the staff is friendly and the margaritas are to die for! They have a great happy hour with a small buffet with everything from rice and beans to taquitos. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Mexican food! Pros: Best Happy Hour By Far!! Cons: NONE!!! more

BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT NORTH OF THE BORDER 10/30/2008

I found Joselito's by looking in different restaurant review websites. Joselito's won several ""BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT"" awards in Los Angeles. I made the 25 minute drive from my house to see if what I read was for real or a disappointment. Joselito's has got to be without a doubt the best and most authentic Mexican restaurant north of the border and better then most that are south of the border. The ""Burrito Lito"" has got to be the biggest and best burrito I have ever eaten. I have yet been able to finish it. Their enchiladas are out of this world. There is something about the enchilada sauce that is so special. I always ask for extra sauce. The lunch buffet has a nice selection of traditional Mexican fare and is very reasonably priced. The creme de la creme is the elaborate Sunday Brunch. Make sure you arrive hungry when you get there. On one occation, my dining companion ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger. I laughed and asked why he ordered a hamburger at a Mexican restaurant. He told me to wait and see. I tasted his Bacon Cheeseburger. It has got to be the best burger I have ever eaten. It doesn't matter what the chef prepares. It comes out absolutely delicious. more

darn good Mexican food 10/27/2008

fantastic experience every time. If you want to see a really big burrito get a Burrito Lito. It's full of high quaility meat and fresh ingredients. Wash it down with a Asomrita and your set. Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

Worst Mexican food joint I've ever been to 9/15/2008

As a guy who is on the road throughout LA and Orange County daily, I am constantly looking for a good ""local joint"" to eat lunch. As I was driving along Foothill Blvd. in Tujunga I could not help but notice the overflowing parking lot at Joselito's as this is usually a good sign of good food inside. The place looked ok but as I made my way to my table I noticed what it was that caused the parking lot to overflow...Cheap Lunch Buffet! I immediatly thought Ihit the jackpot and told my waiter what my intentions were. Well, to my surprise, there was only 5 minutes left before the buffet ended so he would not allow me to partake. Well I was not very happy but he quickly reccomended the 99 cent tacos which could stiill be ordered for another hour. I reluctantly agreed and ordered three shredded beef tacos and two glasses of water( I was working in the hot sun all morning and was quite thirsty). Then things took a bad turn. My waiter brought me four chickn tacos and two glasses of iced tea! I informed the waiter of the mistake and he gave me a very puzzled look. So I told him to forget the water and to just leave one glass of iced tea. As for the tacos, I felt bad sending perfectly good food back to the kitchen so I suggested that he only charge me for what I ordered and I would eat three of the chicken tacos he brought me instead. He agreed. The chicken tacos tasted like dirt. I mean Taco Bell makes a better friggin taco and I can't stand their food. These things were bone dry and did not have any onions/cilantro/lime/tomatos. Just dry chicken and tortillas. Was this some kind of joke? I could not finish two tacos before I finally asked for the bill. Well no surprise here, I was charged for the four tacos and two iced teas. Rather than beat a dead horse and point out the mistake, I left the cash on the table and walked out. Bottom line this place stinks. Try El Torito or Alcapulco rest instead. The food is much more authentic and I'm sure they will get your order right. Cons: Food, service, parking more

Best Mexican you'll find anywhere 8/29/2008

I love everything about this place. I came on here to vote for them for best mexican and they're not on the list to be voted for! They have won for 2 years straight and it's well deserved :) well since I can't vote I want to recommend Joselitos to everyone! the best place for Mexican food, Friendly service, family atmosphere & margaritas!! more

a mid-summers night dream come true 7/18/2007

What's the best relief for a hot summer night??? Drinking a cool margarita in a breezy patio with friends. And not having to move because everything is catered to you. Pros: Everything was great Cons: charge for the extra sour cream more
