What a great experience, I was impressed at how friendly everyone was. They were all realy down to earth for such an up-scale salon...it was really nice to see!!!! My harstylists was attentive to me and took the time to teach me about my hair...it was very helpful.\r \r I have to say though, I read all the reviews before I wrote mine and the negative reviews really sound like it is from someone with a personal issue. I say this because I don't think it is fair for a whole salon to receive a negative review for someone's inability to deal with whatever personal problem they have. Pros: AWESOME ATMOSPHERE!!! more

RE: 'wow the owner does like to toot his own horn' & 'are you serious?' to me, this doesn't sound like tooting his own horn. sounds more pathetic than anything. i was checking out the reviews because i was thinking of making an appointment. however, after reading the owner's comment on the negative review, i changed my mind. to see him just totally bash the negative reviewer was so unprofessional. it's always nice to see something more like ""i am sorry you had such a bad experience in our salon. we take pride in what we do, which is why so many of our customers come back to us year after year. if we knew the issues you were having, we would have gladly fixed it to your liking."" what a turn off. gave 3 stars because it was the fairest thing to do. for all i know, they might actually do good work. i guess i will never find out! more

I have known Jon for 13 years. I met him at a hair show where I was introduced to him by the Boston Goldwell rep. I can testify they are Boston bred boys! Jon is one of the best colorist in RI, I would go as far as saying in MA too.He is a certified Goldwell (professional color) colorist. Jon doesn't need to toot his horn b/c I will do it for him. As a previous Goldwell rep there are few salons that are professional and caring as Jon and his staff. When you walk out of the salon your hair will be amazing and if you are not happy, he will make it his job to make sure you are! He works with his clients to make sure their hair is nothing but the best! Trust me I know!! more

I was reading the reviews on this salon the first one is a bad one ...then I noticed a response for a ID naterella\r which from what it said that he or she has'nt taken a client in over a year .....so I take it that would be the owner....but funny thing is they wrote a reveiw on the salon with that same ID naterella\r like they were a client......talk about tooting their own horn.......lol more

I moved into the area and thought from their write up that this would be the perfect place to go for my hair. I have lived in NYC and Boston but have never experienced such a bogus salon in my life. They are NOT from Newbury Street in Boston and their lack of skills or knowledge of how to color and cut hair is evident. They are brothers who act more like lovers, a little sick if you ask me.\r \r They knew nothing about Newbury Street and skated around the exact location of where they worked. Their educational background was nothing more than a stylist who worked at Supercuts. The Salon is not esthetically pleasing and the staff is not welcoming. Attitude is high in this salon and I use the term salon loosely, no one in this salon has the right to exude attitude. My hair color when I Ieft went from a beautiful blonde to that of a copper pipe. My haircut was uneven and jagged. I was mortified when I left and wouldn't refer this place to my worst enemy. Proceed with caution ... you would probably get a better haircut at a pet grooming salon and a better color at a auto body dealership. \r \r Where salon owners need to toot their own horn and build up hype, it is evident that the service they provide is only good in their imaginary minds. This salon is really the best I've ever been to. The stylists work really hard to make sure you are truly happy with your hair. My appointments are never rushed and always on time. I would highly recommend this salon. From pedicures to foils, there really is no need to go anywhere else. more

What a great salon! The staff is friendly and up to date on style trends and design. I wouldn't go anywhere else for cut & color. The stylist was a master at color mixing and matching, and the result was amazing! The salon is clean and tredy chic. Al in all a great experience. more

My wife had a bad color job in a high end salon in Prov. So one day I saw there name on the credits of the ABC6 news hair done by Jon Richard Salon so I told her to call they where more than happy to fix the color it was exactly what she wanted . So then I gave it a shot as a guy its hard to find a good hair cut ,but no reason to look anyfurther the two men that own it know there stuff both formly of Newbury St. The salon is beyond cool I thaught I walked in somewhere in Southbeach or LA .
