Johnny's Charhouse

We recently went to Johnny's for what we thought was a nice holiday family dinner. What we paid for and what we got were two different things. Food was nothing special and the service was awful. Our waitress was incredibly rude and unprofessional. We won't be going back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. This wasn't our first bad experience, but now it will be last last, as we will not be returning. more

Johnny's is located on Sycamore Road / Route 23, in Sycamore, IL, with plenty of parking. We were there on a Saturday night without a reservation and only had to wait about 10 min to be seated, but by the time we left about 7:30 there was about 45 min wait time. They are open for lunch and dinner with a wide selection on the menu for everyone. The waitstaff and every one there is very nice and attends to your needs at a timely manner. When you first get seated they bring you loaf of warm bread with butter, which is delicious. The prices are a little expensive but the food is worth it, with your meal you also get a big salad, enough for 2 people and the main course portions are also enough for two. When you do go you need a big appetite and still be prepared to take some home. more

Johnny's charhouse has quite possibly the best food in the DeKalb area. The steak is absolutely fantastic, and the soup can't be beaten. Each meal comes with fresh baked bread. Entrees all come with soup or salad (try the low fat creamy Italian dressing. It's the BEST!), veggie of the day, and choice of potato. Their garlic mashed potatoes are incredibly good! They have a pretty limited dessert menu, but the things they do have are good quality. The cheesecake is the best of the desserts. The prices have gone up fairly recently and are now pretty high for the area. It's not the kind of place most people could afford every day, but for a special occasion Johnny's Charhouse is definitely the best choice in town! more

Johnny's Charhouse is has only been open about 5 years. The steak & Italian selections are excellent. There is a big menu with something for everyone. The restaurant is big with lots of seating for any size party. It get busy at night, but you can wait for your table at the bar & have a really great Margarita. The is friendly & efficient. The prices are rather expensive. I usually go here for special occasions & not all the time. It is located off of a main road & has plenty of parking. more

Johnny's is located on DeKalb Avenue in south Sycamore. They have huge portions. Large salads come with the meal. They are open for lunch. The warm bread served when you arrive is delicious. Tuesdays they have Prime Rib specials. Service is great. Food is great. The atmosphere is great. Take a big appetite when you go! more
