Out of business 8/30/2008

They truly went out of business and it's a shame. The burgers were the best but the service was lacking luster. We went there a few times believing that it was just an off night but not so. I even warned the owner that this was bad for business and that they should consider some kitchen shortcuts but alas. We ended up calling in the burgers and picking them up half an hour later. I miss their food but not their service. more

Amazing Burgers! 3/3/2008

This has got to be one of the best burgers I have ever tried! Order the Ultimate Burger, $9.00. It is an 8 ounce burger that is fresh and delicious! The fries are great, loved the ceasar salad and the oregon chai tea was great! The service was polite and attentive, th jazz music plays in the background but the setup is a little messy. I guess they try to make it a laidback enviroment, which is fine because it is a coffee shop. The portions are large and the service is quick, I recommend going on a weekday afternoon. I am definately going back to try the rest of their menu! Pros: Food and Service Cons: Set up more

THE RUDEST MANAGEMENT!! 10/25/2007

We went in one afternoon for lunch and were greeted with ""attitude"". As we usually don't bother acknowleding this kind of behavior we just sat down and looked at the menu. We couldn't help but notice the woman, whose name turned out to be ""Carmen"" (we asked) was incredibly rude to EVERYONE, even the employees. Maybe especially the employees. We had a few questions and the waitress was really nice but every time she had to talk to ""Carmen"" she came to the table all stressed out. The attitude affected the whole restaurant. We couldn't even bear to stay for lunch. It was so hostile in there. Not going back EVER!\r Pros: Wait staff was really nice. Cons: Management needs replacing. more

Best Coffee in Town to chill out...or chow down on some pasta florentine...rocks! 5/2/2007

Its a great coffee house. A place you can just chill out and have a cup of joe. You can also chill and get a bite to eat with you glass of vino..a cool atmosphere with ambient music at times. Not your typical restaurant...thats for certain. \r \r If you expect to have 5 star service with a waiter/waitress always on the prowl to fiill you delicious cup of miami water or you are just picky about everything...this may not be your cup of tea.. service is sometimes quick and sometimes slow...depending how busy it gets....\r \r price could range low (5-10 bucks) to moderate (15-30)...depending how hungry you are...\r or could just get a cup of good coffee (2 bucks)....\r \r overall...its just a place to be at for hours on end with your only concern to either have a passionate conversion with someone or just browse the net with your cup of joe ...or any other type of coffee they may have..... Pros: everything is pretty much cool.. Cons: service could be slow.. more

Suspect Omlettes 4/27/2007

we decided to have breakfast there on a Saturday morning - my corned beef hash was standard - probably from a can, however the rest of the family had omlettes that really tasted strange - a wierd after-taste etc. My wife mentioned this to the server but he didnt seem that interested in doing anything about it.\r \r I would not recommend the place - better to stay at home and cook oneself.... Pros: none that I can think of Cons: Strange tasting food more

""cheap eats?"" ...I think NOT! 4/7/2007

Not So Cheap!\r \r I'm not sure how well Citysearch does their homework before categorizing this joints, but as I experienced Joffrey's Coffee & Restaurant... NOT SO CHEAP! Unless you consider a $53 (w/o tip) bill for two people that shared dessert, a cheap meal. First of all, the menu pricing is very tricky as the plates\r are not priced in standard decimal formats, rather whole numbers without dollar sign or decimal cents.\r The place is really nothing extraordinary, is located in a shopping center corner & the interior deco is more of a common coffee shop than a elegant restaurant, in fact some of their back seat cushions were unstiched and all.\r \r Despite all of that, I thought the food was pretty good & the service was fast & very pleasant. But again, ""cheap eats?"" ...I think NOT, definetly the wrong category to place this restaurant in. ""look out Citysearch""!!!\r \r -O.E. more

Amazingly Cozy, Excellent Food, Friendly Service, Free Internet 1/27/2007

This is the first time I have found it notable to comment on a restaurant that I found on citysearch. I was looking for a good place to order some food for takeout, that was nearby. So, I went to the restaurant which is right off of Kendall drive in the shopping center with Pollo Tropical, and Kendall Ale House. The parking wasn't bad at the time I went, but if you go during a major sports event then the parking lot is packed with people going to the Ale House. So I went in and reviewed their menu which has many choices from pizza, to pasta, to salads, sandwiches, etc. However, the thing I loved was their full page of desserts! They also specialize in wines and coffee drinks. It is a very unusual restaurant and especially for the fact that it is located in Kendall because there is nothing latin about this restaurant. Overall, the service I got for takeout the two times I have been in the last week were excellent and super friendly. Also, the food was ready in just over 10 minutes both times. However, it was not busy at either of the times I went which was around 5pm one day and around 9pm another day. I tried their pasta, which was fabulous, very tasty! The salad was very fresh also. My only complaint was that they did not serve any kind of bread with the pasta. In addition I was tempted by an enormous chocolate chunk cookie that was on display so I gave in and got it! Wow, it had dark chocolate chunks and was very fresh...seriously mouth watering. So, I was hooked after this visit so I went back for a second visit. I then got a chicken sandwich and onion rings. The onion rings were very yummy, but the portion size wasn't big enough. The sandwich was on fresh bread and very yummy also. Ofcourse I fell for that cookie again, but totally worth it. This time I had a seat and they heated the cookie up for me...to die for! I took a better look at the place and it is definately somewhere you should go with a date to enjoy a long relaxing night. Pros: Desserts, Pastas, Wine Selection, Coffee, Relaxing Atmosphere Cons: Decor could use updating more

great 10/7/2005

This place is a great hangout, and has an amazing selection of food and coffee. Forget about coffee at starbucks, forget about dinner at fridays- this place beats out yucky chains BY FAR and somehow manages to charge less. Everything i've ever ordered there has been above average, and very affordable. The service is very friendly and inviting. ps. DONT miss out on the espresso brownie! Pros: food, service, atmosphere more

Rude Rude RUDE! 7/23/2005

A group of 8 friends decided to try this place in lieu of our normal Starbucks run. We were greeted by rudeness on a level seldom seen, even by Miami standards. From the time we first arrived to the point on where we decided to walk out while ordering we were treated like with extreme disrespect. It was too bad I couldn't comlain to the management, because the person who mistreated us was the owner himself. I will never set foot in this place again. Pros: No idea Cons: bad service more

Great Place! 4/20/2005

My husband and I found this place a few weeks ago and cannot stop going! It is a great place to sit, talk, and eat. Sometimes we will just go in for their scrumptious espresso brownie and wonderful coffee. It is also a great place to get work done when you are on your own. They have complimentary wireless and accommodate their customers in any way possible. It is a great place. I highly recommend it! more
