There is no possible way his positive reviews are real. All the negative reviews claim the same situation. Hair cut with a razor only Color cut and style all done under 1 hour Multiple clients being serviced at once. Not receiving the treatments advertised in the Groupon. Overall a NEGATIVE 10 would be my rating if possible. more

First time visit - Used the groupon and was surprise with how good the service and the cut was. Expecting Joevir to cut my hair, but Serena is as good. It has been a week, and my hair is still style like she did for me. By the way, i am no expect on hair and don't like to use any product in my hair. Joevir is a magnificent Artist of bringing out the beauty in each of his clients. Just as a sculptor releases a magnificent rarity from marble. He also has such gifts, talents and ability. I have been going to him for over ten years. Each time he designs my hair, I leave the salon feeling 10 years younger. Others that I have asked them to go to see him have always continued to go. I wish my experience w/Joevir was 1/2 as enjoyable as the reviews I see posted here. Joevir refused to listen or understand my wishes for my cut, color & highlight session w/him. Now I am noticing that these reviews are over 2/yrs old so maybe he's just changed his demeanor / attitude towards new clients. Gone is my face framing, gone are my long layers, gone is my hair for that matter as it's now 1/2 inch above my shoulders not the 1 1/2 to 2 inches below we'd discussed. He cut my fine hair w/a straight razor so it now has jagged ends that are difficult to style and unbecoming. When questioned about the use of a straight razor, and anything else for that matter, he had two pat statements at the ready for me, "that is the old way of doing things, this is the new better way" and "you need to embrace change". This last one was mostly uttered after I advised that, as my hair tends to pick-up on red colorant, I've stayed away from blonde and caramel highlights due to the tendency for them to turn-out burnished and coppery. He advise this was due to my natural warm skin tone and that I should embrace this in my hair. I tried to be polite yet firm about the fact that I did not care for the coppery tones, but he was already engrossed in applying the color and then minimal highlights which he wouldn't place around my face to soften the look a bit. The effect was a dark brown color w/coppery highlights concentrated on my crown. I now have a color correction appointment at a trusted salon at an additional cost. I can not stress enough how stressful and disappointing this session was. I wouldn't even send my enemies to Joevir. Maybe he "was" a great stylist, but times they have a changed. more

I scheduled a last minute haircut with Joevir, right before my move to NYC. My hair was well below my waist and I wanted to cut 10 inches to donate to the Locks of Love and to feel lighter for the summer. I was very impressed with Joevir's excellent hair cutting technique, his ability to choose the most up-to-date style for me and still kept my hair long. I was expecting to go in for 30 minutes to get my 10 inches cut off, styled, and go home. Instead Joevir cut 12”! I was getting a little nervous but soon he washed my hair and gave me a wonderful head massage (I have never had a hairstylist do that before). Next, he started styling and I was even more nervous as I kept seeing more hair come off. Then out of nowhere he comes back with this concoction and starts adding it into my hair and wrapping foil around it. By this time I was so, so nervous and scared that I would look like some kind of a zebra (I have never colored or highlighted my hair before). When it was time to wash off the goo… yes yet again another wonderful head massage. Joevir then dried and styled it and now it was time to look in the mirror. It was AMAZING! It felt light and looked so much more alive! I couldn’t stop bragging to all my friends and even in NYC I have gotten complements on it. Thank you Joevir for such a wonderful haircut experience and a pleasant conversation. For those of you who are considering getting your cut and style by Joevir Morada I would suggest knowing somewhat what you want but also allowing him to “experiment”. He does a great job listening to what you want but at the same time he can see in his mind what hairdo you will look exceptionally great in. more

Joevir is the most amazing artist you will ever meet. I just turned 30 and It was a big decicion to cut all my hair off but after looking at a lot of different hairdos I decided to go to Joevir and have him surprise me with whatever he decides. I closed my eyes and had him cut away and O MY GOD I look like a French Model I have been getting compliments from strangers. I feel and look great. I quit going to Joevir a while ago when my job moved from downtown. I've colored my own hair since. A few months ago my color went horribly wrong and I fried my hair. I called Joevir and he fit me in right away early on a Saturday. He fixed me right up (still don't know how he did it?) and gave me a totally new style. It got a lot of compliments, including my husband who usually begs me to keep my hair long and not get it cut. He thought Joevir did an outstanding job! more

I went to Joevir for the first time with a desperate need for a color change. I have always wanted to try a red on my dull brunette head but have always feared the results. I let Joevir do what he thought was best and come to find out we agreed on the color perfectly! He gave me the most beautiful red ever! The cut was amazing! I must say that Joevir's technique and detail when cutting/coloring hair is phenomenal. You can tell by his cutting/coloring style that he takes pride in his work, and looks at your hair as not just hair but as a piece of his art. I would recommend Joevir's hair design to anyone. I ask for something done to my hair, whether it be simple of complicated, Joevir does it EXACTLY how I want it. Other places don't even compare to the technique and quality that Joevir's salon. I JUST got my haircut on my lunch break and it had been FOREVER since I last had it cut! I had a wonderful time and ended up with a wonderful cut! I asked to save some of the length but to make it look healthy... he did that and then some! Not only did he save the length, but the way he cut it actually made it look longer! While on vacation in Seattle at the end of June, I decided I should finally just get my hair cut. I browsed the yellow pages for something that was close to my hotel and ended up at Joevir's. I paid about $30 more than I normally do for a haircut, but it was totally worth it! All while he was complimenting me on the hair I already had, he gave me a cut that fit to my needs of something low maintenance and without needing any additional hair products. When I returned back to work, everyone kept telling me how much they loved my new haircut. It's about a month later, and I still love it!
