Joe's Crab Shack

I agree the food here isn't at the top of the best but just going there makes it all worth it, they have a great atmosphere and we love to watch the employees dance when the music comes on, I beg to go here every year for my birthday just so they can make me run around the place with a pony singing I love joes :) more

That is definately the best thing about Joe's Crab Shack. The music being played and the dancing is a lot of fun. The food was okay, but it was too pricey for the amount of the serving you received. I left feeling unsatisfied with the meal. I am not sure I would go back. I think kids would love this place, but to feed a family would cost quite a bit. more

I was excited to eat here when joe's first opened in my area. I think it's a neat restaurant with a fun atmosphere and great decor, but I have not been impressed with the food. I'd equate this restaurant with a Red Lobster, where everything is so obviously previously frozen and just tastes cheap. I know it's hard to get good seafood in the midwest, but I can do better at my local grocery store. The only thing worth ordering here is a pasta dish. more

Joe's Crab Shack is a unique place for seafood in Independence. The atmosphere is quite lively and often the servers will dance to fun music and attempt to get the patrons to join in as well. The drink menu here is quite large and the frozen drinks are very tasty. They aren't cheap though, so be prepared. The menu has a good variety of offerings and for those who don't love seafood, the grilled chicken sandwich is quite tasty. The hushpuppies are very good and the shrimp is cooked just right. Having a drink on the outside patio is a good way to enjoy your waiting time. On Friday and Saturday nights this restaurant can have quite a waiting list. Go early or come late is my advice for those two nights. All in all it will be a good experience. more

Joe's Crab Shack in Independence, Missouri is a fun experience. The decorations in the restaurant are so much fun to look at. They decorate the walls as well as the ceiling. The staff dance every couple of minutes to the upbeat music. The food is excellent and all meals come with a salad and rolls. more
