This slice of Americana in the middle of Irving's Heritage District is a heckuva lot more than the name suggests. You can have the best breakfast in the DFW Metroplex for $3.80 (with eggs, biscuits, and Kansas City hashbrowns, embellished with bacon, green peppers, and onions), served by one of a crew of steel magnolias who'll call you ""hon."" They'll also make honest recommendations: ""The chicken-fried steak is better'n the chicken-fried chicken today. 'Least, that's what I think."" Leave room for a slice of the best pie (choices abound) since your grandma's. And the coffee's good, too.
