Usually any acceptable Italian restaurant is known for its fresh and tasty ingredients to give flavor to a dish. At Joe Baccardi's the begin the deception by listing many classic Italian seafood pastas and even a seafood pizza. It becomes a diners disgust that after ordering a menu item that clearly states the ingredients contained are ""Scallops"" and ""Crabmeat"" to be presented with 2 forms of cheap, bland ""fish paste"" substitutions. This blatant form of ingredient deception and misrepresentation within their menu is extremely low class, clearly defining their lack of commitment for quality Italian food. Joe's Mama would be sick knowing that her food has dropped down to the deceptive practices of cheap buffet food. IF, ... YOU ever are forced into a position asking a waitress if the items clearly stated within the menu are REAL or ""IMITATION"" FOOD, then you should also worry about what standards are upheld for customer satisfaction, and especially the quality of food served. If you crave some Japanese/Italian garbage then order the round ""Surimi"" fish paste with the ""Surimi"" fish paste sticks covered in tomato sauce....YUCK ! ! ....Beware at Joe's seafood could be anything they choose to serve. We lived here, our house burned, we moved to the Ocean in Maryland. We still get post cards for our birthdays from Joe Boccardi's and it kills us because we love this restaurant and could not come. There are no Italian Restaurants that even compare in Maryland. We have tried and cannot find that great taste and good service. Please build one in Maryland, they would love your food, secret recipes, and supurb pizza. We are coming to your restuarant tonight since we are in town. Thanks for the memories and good food. Wow, this place keeps me coming back. I grew up in Pacific.. I live in O'Fallon, MO. I drive to eat there... You have to try the stuffed Canneloni, breaded deep fried scrummies, the Fried Zuchini is length wise, like fries, the Scallops in pasta, OMG it is just all so good. We always take a pizza home.. I love going to Joe's & will continue, as long as I am able.. I have eaten at a lot of places but Joe's is my fav & he is always at the Eureka location.. Friends recently introduced me to Boccardi's after I said there is no more pizza like that of my youth. Boy, am I wrong! Boccard's is thin and succulent, like the old Kemoll's on North Grand Ave. and the Ponticello's near the Riverview Circle. Spices and sauces are applied in just the right combination to tickle the palate and intoxicate the taste buds. Be there are be square! As Arnold said,"" I will be back"". Joe Boccardi's restaurants are a excellent value for your money. There salads and dressings are fresh ,the appettizers are very good, and the pizza is the best in St Louis!!
