Jocko's Steak House

We read all the reviews about this restaurant at this site and others. Most raved about the food but decried the service. We went to Jocko's after making reservations for 6pm mid-week. We waited for only 15 minutes and the waitress was cordial. The decor is not stellar but we didnt go there for that. I ordered the filet and the wife order the chops. WOW! The food was great. We ended up taking home a goodly portion of the meat. The prices were excellent for the quality and amount of food we got. I would rate my steak among one of the best I have had in many years. The chops were also very good. Hard to go wrong with this place if you want great food and plenty of it. Expect to wait a little while to be seated. If you want to eat at 630 pm make reservations for 6 and if the waitress is less then friendly just chalk it up to the experience. Eat on a happy stomach and the food will taste better. We enjoyed our experience and will return to Jocko's when we are back in the area. more

We went to Jocko's on the advice of several people. We had a 5:00pm reservation, and waited until 5:45 to be seated. I have never had a waitress that was worse, she was rude, surly & completely useless. On a positive note, the serving size is HUGE. As far as actual taste, I would give it a 7 out of 10. Simply put, these people are not worth the time and aggravation. We will not be going back. more

Jocko's is famous for their steaks, and they are pretty good. The food is decent, but I don't think that the steaks come anywhere near the ones you will get at Far Western, Hitching Post of Shaw's. The best thing about Jocko's is their huge breakfast. If you go to Jocko's for breakfast, you will likely not be hungry for the rest of the day. It is a gigantic western style breakfast, with meat (linguica, steak, sausage, whatever you want...), eggs, pancakes, potatoes, salsa and beans. The wait staff is also very friendly and make you feel right at home. more
