I would agree with BeneluxBoy that the environment is nothing to write home about, but it's not horrendous either. It's an older building that's no frills, but I go there for the coffee and the service. The gals that keep the coffee flowing are always very nice and the place is comfortable enough. I've never had the ""kids run wild"" experience there either though I have seen a few book club groups of older ladies meeting there. more

Better coffee than their neighbors 8/11/2004

I've never found the ambience as stressful as the other reviewer, but it's not terribly captivating, either. That can be okay, though: usually, it's not too busy inside, and there's even a conference room that you can borrow. Also, they have drive-up service. And in any case, the coffee is the best in the neighborhood, and the staff is usually quick and courteous. more

Seattle Shame 6/13/2004

This place gave me the ""jitters"" when I walked in the place, no joke. All around me were 70 and 80 something year old women playing cards, kids running all over, lights so bright I felt as if I were under a heat lamp ... if you're getting coffee here, make sure it is to go, the environment of the place is a joke ... Pros: no line of customers Cons: , bright lights, restaurant feel more
