Ji's Art Studio

Ji's Art Studio provides excellent teachings of art from learning basics to building up the skills to complete portfolio for college admissions. I had been going to Ji's Art Studio in the beginning of my 7th grade and stopped after entering Otis. Schools such as Otis and Art Center are known for its low survival rate of students. Despite the fact that of strict teachings of well known art schools, it was easy for me to survive because I learned basics from the promising art teacher, Ji Young, Oh. Not only her teachings are flawless, but she is a person, who is confident, funny, genuine, and can motivate her students to keep working as well as help them to build up creative thoughts. I personally recommend this art studio for anyone, who has interest in going to an art school or even anyone, who wants to give a hand made painting to someone. more

I've been going to Ji's Art studio for awhile now to work on my art portfolio. I applied to Otis college of Art and Design, Parsons the New School for Design, School of the Art Institute of Chicago and FIT as a fashion major. I only had 7 months to work on my art portfolio because it was a last minute decision and with the help of my art teacher, Ji, I got into all the schools I applied to. The teacher has many good talents such as unique ideas, risking and playing around with your art work and style, using alot of different mediums and techniques. Best of all, she can really build up a student's confidence because without confidence, art students cannot portray their best quality onto their art work. Her knowledge is very broad which is really helpful when you don't have know what to do and or how to do something. She can definitely build a strong foundation for art students. Besides her abilities to teach, she is funny and an easy going teacher. You can always communicate with her your ideas and thoughts and in return, she'll give you guidance and her thoughts to make a piece better. There is definitely no pressure while talking to her. I'm very lucky to have her as my art teacher and I've learned alot her when I was working on my art portfolio. Even though I got accepted to the schools I applied to, I am continuing my classes with her so she can prepare me for art school in the fall. I have a colleague whose daughter was trying to get into a prestigious art college. She attended classes at Ji's Art Studio and built a great portfolio under the guidance of art instructor Ji Oh. With the help of Ms. Oh, my colleague's daughter was accepted to not one but SIX prestigious art colleges: Parson's School of Design in New York, Pratt Institute in New York, Rhode Island School of Design, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Maryland Institute College of Art. Two of these schools awarded scholarships to my colleague's daughter. I highly recommend this studio to anyone, especially the college-bound art student.
