Jimisan is the king of sushi!!! 11/26/2007

You have to eat there to actually believe how good the food is.Words do not do this jewel justice. Fresh seafood, fresh veggies, fresh (made in house by Jimi)sauces with cold japanese beer and/or warm/cold saki. Add to that expert preparation by Jimi and Todd with thier own creative flair and you have the makings of one of the best dining nights of your life. Pros: Great food, Great service Cons: Parking more

One of the Most Amazing Fish and Sake Selections in the City (at very reasonable prices)!! 7/12/2007

Jimisan used to work at Sushi-ran (not Ebisu), which is the only Japanese restuarant that got a Michelin rating in the Bay Area, before opening his own place in the Sunset. He serves only the freshest fish and serves some pretty unique things that may have been flown in all the way from Japan!! His Fresh Ikura is to die for! He also has a great sake selection!! Unfortunately, it is not a very trendy scene, so it doesn't get super crowded, but Jimisan will not compromise the qualify of his fish despite that!! The upside is that it's super easy to get a table!! Pros: Quality of Fish and Sake Selection Cons: Parking more

the best -- why is it always so empty? 1/30/2007

This is my go-to place for sushi in the Inner Sunset. It's been open for a couple years and the proprietor, Jimi, used to work at Ebisu. The items are really creative (ask for the live scallop), the fish is fresh and the portions are generous. It's a mystery to me as to why it's never super busy when I go. If you're looking to see and be seen, this isn't the place to go, but if you're just looking for a laid-back place to eat some good fish check out Jimisan. Pros: great fish, great menu, friendly staff Cons: not a hot spot, if you're into that sort of thing more
