BEWARE! The INACCURATE SURVEY DONE BY Jim Hart & Associates has COST me my HARD-WON BUILDING PERMIT, OVER $45,000 in EXTRA EXPENSES TO RESOLVE PROBLEMS CAUSED BY HART'S BAD SURVEY, & SET ME BACK OVER 1 YEAR IN MY BUILDING PROCESS!
Jim Hart & Assoc. surveyed my waterfront residential lot in 9/07 but (unknown to me) INACCURATELY STATED VITAL INFORMATION. As a RESULT, the City STOPPED my BUILDING PERMIT & the house design I paid $13,600 for is UNUSABLE & will not be allowed on my lot, as it was BASED ON HART'S INACCURATE SURVEY! Now that the correct survey is done, the old design will not fit waterfront requirements & I am now forced to PAY AGAIN for a different design that will fit the constraints of the corrected survey.
My building permit was granted in 7/09; 6 weeks later it was stopped by the City, when HART'S INCORRECT SURVEY INFO was discovered. I am STILL (13 months LATER) trying to get a waterfront building permit for my lot! I will have to PAY AGAIN for the cost to review my permit application, so the $13,500 I paid for the original permit is a near total WASTE!
After HART'S SURVEY ERROR was discovered in 9/09, I was advised to hire an architect to try to resolve matters as expeditiously & economically as possible with the City - this has cost me over $17,000 & still no permit!
I informed JIM HART of the ERROR is his SURVEY as soon as I was aware of it - JIM HART TOOK OVER ! MONTH to TRY TO CORRECT HIS COMPANY""S SHODDY WORK!
I was a REPEAT CUSTOMER of JIM HART & ASSOC. They had done 2 surveys for me previously. Jim Hart was AWARE that my wife & I are SENIOR CITIZENS & that my wife was undergoing CANCER TREATMENT from 2008 - 2009. Yet all he offered to settle this matter was $5607, as he is protected by his LIMITED LIABILITY CONTRACT! THIS IS THE TREATMENT GIVEN TO A LOYAL CUSTOMER BY JIM HART & ASSOC!
THERE ARE MANY OTHER COMPETENT LAND SURVEYORS & SURVEY COMPANIES IN THE KIRKLAND AREA - WHY RISK A FINANCIAL FIASCO SUCH AS JIM HART & ASSOC. HAVE CAUSED ME?
