When you walk in here it's like being a kid in a candy store. Only it's a bookstore. Jim's Universe offers a wide diversity of used books on many different subjects. They have comic books galore. They also have a lot of odd & ends. If you have some time and don't mind digging you can find some really great finds for a pretty decent price. more

There used to be a lot of comic book stores on Staten Island....but only one good one has survived the ups and downs of the industry: Jim Hanley's Universe. Although they did have to move across the street to a smaller store in the mid 90's to stay afloat, they could certainly use the extra space back. The store manages to remain easy to navigate yet jam-packed with brand new and backlist comics, toys, cards, t-shirts, and other comic-related items. If they don't have something in-stock, they can send it down from their larger store in manhattan in one day, or have it ordered from the publisher, usually arriving in a week. Don't go anywhere else for comics and comic info. they try to hire only the most knowledgeable geeks, but are never condescending or elitist. more
