Jill's Beach

I was looking for tanning salons and found that Jill's Beach was the closest. Even though there were some negative reviews, I decided to check it out. After being shown around and explained the different types of beds, I decided to sign up for the membership. The girls working there were very helpful and explained everything that I was signing up for. I never felt pressured to spend more money than I wanted to. They did tell me a lot about tanning lotions, but when I declined, that was that, not pushy by any means. more

Awful! I am a 47 year old woman that was treated like I was a 7 year old kid. I went to the one in Cary and the ""girls"" working there where condescending and rude. From the minute you walk in the door they try to up-sell you by telling you that you really need the $50.00 bottle of tanning lotion. They do not take no for an answer unless you are very firm. Then, each visit they try to pitch it to you again! I have 2 more tans left and there isn't anyone that could pay me to walk in the door again. I felt abused. Worst experience I have ever had with a business. Totally discourage anyone from going there. more

I agree with last comment they are all about the money and all they can get from you. Awful in todays tough times and yes same experience they continue to bill you 4 months after you cancel. They do not deserve to be in buisness with ways like this!!!!!Agree with last review all about the money $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and when you dont give them some watch out !!!!! Dont try to cancel they will continue to bill you for 4 plus months and they threaten you to put it on your credit report in diff amounst as individual amounts owed so it goes on your report 4 times with 4 diff acc numbers . Unbelievable we allow people to do buisness like this and get away with it!!!!! Run from this . And Jill the owner is ok with it all trust me. more

The owner Jill and there staff are all about the money so be warned. And make sure you cancel in writting do not believe anything the staff has to say over the phone or you will be charged 4 months and they will be sneaky about it and put it on your credit report in 4 diff amounts and dates as well If there was an option for - 5 start this is what I would rate them go somewhere else they are selfish and all about the dollar$$$$. I just started tanning at Jill's Beach in Knightdale, North Carolina, I just love it! I had been tanning at another place prior and have no complaints at all, but could not pass up the package deal that I was offered at Jill's, not to forget that it is only three minutes away from my home. I was very impressed when I first walked in and saw how gorgeous this place is, very stylish with beautiful lighting throughout the salon.\r The staff is very friendly and the products are terrific, some that I have never seen before. I was educated my first day, told that I was only allowed to tan twenty~four hours after my previous tan because of the danger it can cause to the skin, I did not know this. This salon takes care of you in every way possible, I sent an email asking if they had tee shirts or tank tops, the following day I had an email telling me yes and they would be at the store waiting for me, I was quite impressed that she got back to me so quickly.\r I am now sporting a beautiful tan, I have three different beds that i can choose from...Yippee! Since the first day I walked into Jill's Beach, I have nothing but a great experiance. I have tanned at three other salons in the area and have AlWAYS ended up with a burn. This has never happened at Jills! They, unlike the others, actually take the time to rate your skin profile. From the profile, you are then set on your tanning treck. Being of Irish and Scottish descent and pale as a ghost, I was a bit worried. However, here I am a year later and I still walk thru those beautiful doors to get my tan on. And one more time never a burn in site! Pros: Friendly service, cleanlenss, top notch equiptment! Cons: NONE!!!!! more

My very first time at a ""Jills"" was when the Tryon rd location opened. Being an Interior Designer by trade I was immediately impressed by the space. It was clear the staff was knowledgeable and I quickly picked up on a real passion for a nice tan from Jill, the owner, who was at the location that day. I loved the overall mood, music and sense of style. Like going to a great restaurant..... sometimes it's all about the mood. Pros: Great beds, relaxing experience. more

I've been tanning with Jill's for over 2 years now. They are great to work with. They know me on a first name basis. I've tried other tanning salons -- including the versaspa sunless tanning. I speak from experience, that sunless tanning formular left me looking orange! I purchased 3 sessions and only used one of them. \r \r Jill's does change her bulbs regularly at all the salons. The only salon I've not visited is in Garner...I plan to stop by there this weekend and reunite myself with the 1050 again -- it used to be in Cary. I tried the SunAngel for the first time this weekend and it was great! \r \r Jill's Beach offers good service and are by far a superior value to the chain salons in the area! Rather to the competition don't bash another salon, instead spend your energy improving your services and technologies. Pros: Clean, New Bulbs, Affordable Cons: 24 hr tanning rule more

LOVE jills beach!. Getting a safe tan is something that's really important to me, and there is no one else I trust to get it done. I have tanned at other salons and i have ALWAYS been disappointed because they're missing something that Jill's beach offers. I haven't been to another salon in years, and I plan to keep it that way! if you're in need of some last-minute instant color, their mystic booths do the trick! I LOVE being able to leave straight from a week in the fluorescent lights of my office, spending a few minutes getting a spray, and then go out for drinks looking like a beach babe! The beds are clean, the bulbs are new, the tan solution is fresh. PERIOD. Haven't tried the custom tan yet, but looking forward to it! Pros: Knowledgeable staff, great service, great tan! Having tanned most of my adult life (20+ years), I can honestly say that Jill's Beach is by far the best salon I have ever used. The locations are convenient, clean, and very stylish. The staff is always welcoming and have smiles on their faces. Most all of them know me by name as well. I have never had an issue with the bulbs being burned out or even having to wait for a bed usually (unless it's Prom Season!). The staff and the owner also take time to educate the consumer on the pros and cons of tanning and will not let you risk burning. The salon also offers spray tanning, which I use occasionally, and the most up to date tanning lotions. Overall, I think that it is the best Raleigh has to offer.\r \r AWJ Pros: Lots of locations, incredible service Cons: I can only tan once a day! more

Friendly staff, beautiful salon, several packages, different locations! I have lived here in NC and in CA and i'll be honest and say you can't find a better salon. The staff if very friendly, there are several beds to chose from! I love this Salon! more

I recently moved here from the West, where Versa Spa is what everyone uses, and I have been shocked to see that so many people here still use Mystic Tan. I normally spray tan once a week to look tan, but don't want to use the UV beds. I went to Jill's to start my membership here, but they confirmed to me that they will only offer Mystic Tan, and the color from this booth is awful-- nobody in California even offers Mystic anymore, and I have been so surprised that everyone here still uses it! There is a new chain with two Cary salons that does offer Versa Spa (FINALLY!), so if you are doing sunless tanning you should not go to Jill's. Although the staff was very friendly, I will only spray tan in a Versa Spa! Pros: cute decorations Cons: sunless offerings stink more

This is a very pretty tanning salon, but I have been going there for over a year and now looking for another salon! All of her beds need new bulbs. They are very rarely changed. First of all, when you look at the bulbs the ends are almost black. That tells me they are weak bulbs and they do not tan you!!!!! I normally tan very well and fast. At this salon I can't even tell I've been. \r \r Very disappointed in this place. But the staff is very nice! more

I urge everyone to get a membership here!\r I have been to many salons in Raleigh, but Jill's Beach tops them all. Their friendly staff has helped me get a great deep tan. I have done their AMAZING mystic tan. Their employees make sure that you know exactly what your doing before getting sprayed to make sure you get flawless color. Once again I highly recommend this salon to anyone new to the area or looking to switch salons. Pros: helpful staff more
