I took my wife's car to get an advertised $19.99 oil change. I was told by the representative that the price for regular oil and synthetic oil were the same, $19.99. I elected to have the synthetic oil, and after more than an hour of waiting (they were very busy) the car was finished and I was rung up and told that the charges were $56.00. I said that that wasn't the price I was told and it was than explained to me that the representative was wrong, and the synthetic oil change costs more. I said I didn't agree to pay that price, it was their mistake. The Manager told me that I have two choices: Pay the $56.00 or wait another hour or so and have them drain the synthetic oil and replace it with regular. I explained that this was a huge inconvienence on their part, but the manager gave me no other option. I told him to go ahead and fix the problem, and as the car was being driven into the bay, I said that I was worried about the work now that we had had an argument. He replied (remember, this is the manager) ""You better be worried. I'm going to do the work myself."" I FREAKED! He must have realized his stupidity, because instead of continuing to the service, he told his staff to park the car around back. Meanwhile, I was on the phone with the corporate people (the number on the back of the reciept) and Mike. P. told me that they had no jurisdiction since they are franchises. I went inside, where the representative (the same one who gave me the false price information) rang me up for $21.53 (the sale price) which I paid. I then took the reciept to the manager, told him I paid, showed him the receipt, and asked for my keys. He refused to give them to me. To make a long story short, I eventually called the police, and when they finally arrived, he gave them the keys without saying a word. The store manager refused to give me my keys, after two hours, until the police showed up, for a mistake which he was responsible for! Please, boycott this location.
