Jewel's Formals

Yesterday I went to Jewels formals in Smithfield and my experience was terrible! When I walked over to the dresses that were a size zero, which I know for a fact is my size, I was told repeatedly that ""Honey, those are the zero's."" After I had been told three times basically that I shouldn't be looking at the zero's and after I had been ""looked over"" as if I was not small enough to fit into that size, I tried the dress on anyway. When I did, the dress was coincidently too big. Then, after receiving terrible customer service while I was trying on the dresses, I decided to look at some other dresses. When I went over to try them on, I was ignored several times, and so I left. I will not take my business to Jewels formals ever again, and I do not recommend the store to anyone. The atmosphere was snobby and I was treated as if I wasn't ""good enough"" for the place. more

I have purchased so many dresses from this store. The owners of the shop personally help you find your dream dress. They know their costumers and what they like. I always have a great experience there. The dresses are amazing. When drive by, i always slow down at the intersection just to admire what's in the window. Pros: you can't leave the place with out wanting 1/2 a dozen dresses. Cons: you can't leave the place with out wanting 1/2 a dozen dresses!!!!!!! more

An excellent place to go for your formal needs.\r After being asked to prom my mom and i went out to look at what styles of dresses would flatter my body. Not planning on buying anything, the very first dress i picked out was stunning. The staff was very encouraging and honest but not pushy. The store was clean and not over-crowded. I was most impressed by the individual attention i was given by an employee in helping me pick out accessories and shoes. Every dress is unique and the racks are sorted as to size. I came back a day later and bought the dress i had tried on originally and was impressed by the ease of the purchase. The prices are a little on the high side, i spent around $400 for the entire outfit, but trust me when i say that it is well worth it. I plan on going back to help my date find his tux.
