Do not go here to sell your gold or silver. I went in with two very old and expensive sets of silver flatware (not plated). I was offered $1000.00 for both sets. I thought that was low so I asked the rate he was buying at and all he would tell me is that it is a small percentage over what he will have to pay the refiner (and he was going to charge me shipping to the refiner also), I was not comfortable with him and decided to refuse his offer when he told me, ""we are not buying sentiments here"". I took the same two sets to THE JEWELRY BOX and was given $4000.00!! It is so sad that there are so many people that take advantage of others when they are vulnerable. more

The most beautiful collection of gems in the OC- or anywhere 2/5/2010

I had the most wonderful afternoon browsing at eye-popping gems & jewels at Joseph's! The pieces are truly breathtaking. Their staff was friendly and knowledgable (not pushy at all). While I was looking they checked my ring and cleaned it (boy did it shine and sparkle afterwards!). I will most definatly be back! I'm dreaming of a big new diamond ring, or watch, emerald earrings, or pearls........(a girl can dream)! I also liked that they had unique silver, artisan and estate jewelery.     Our Newport jewelry shop offers our own designs and carries designs from local, national and international designers. We have a lot of jewels you are not going to see in most jewelry stores in Newport.

    The company was founded by Hartstein's grandfather, who was a jeweler in Pennsylvania. Then in the 1950s his father set up shops in Downey and Bellflower before moving to Orange County in the 1960s. Today in Newport Beach, Jewels by Joseph still offers an array of beautiful jewels and a knowledgeable and friendly staff.
