What you see is not what you get 5/16/2012

The diamond I picked out is not the diamond that I received when I purchased this product. Unfortunately, I noticed this 3 years later because I kept it in a safe after cancelling my engagement. My ex fiance was in love with the way it looked in the store and all the reps seemed to think it was a real great buy, but I guess that's what a sales rep is supposed to do. I noticed inclusions with my own eyes, but when I was in the store, they gave me a loupe (diamond microscope) and didn't notice anything wrong with the diamond at all, so how is it now I can see inclusions with the naked eye. When we got it, I did notice inclusions, but they said it just had to be cleaned etc. BS! .Anyway, I payed about 5k, and the diamond was allegedly worth 8 to 10. These people don't know what they are talking about, or don't have the proper tools to tell you what color your diamond is, cut, etc. The diamond I purchased after getting a GIA Certification is a I1, M color, 1.50. It got appraised for about 7k, but that doesn't really matter when you try to sell it some where else. I've been hearing that I will probably get 1500 max. I believe that they switched my diamond for a lower quality one when they sent it off. Kind of weird that they have to mail it to you as opposed to picking up at the store. They only buy back 85% of what you paid if you buy another diamond in their store. Other than that, they don't accept returns. If you don't care about certifications and like taking chances with getting what you didn't pick out in the store, go right ahead. more

Do not trust anyone in this place. If they offer any type of price gaurantee read all the small print. Have it appraised ASAP. There prices are really not that good. 9/2/2008

I purchased a engagement ring from these people with some cheesey appraisal card that said the ring was worth more than I was paying. Later I found out that insuance companies do not accept the card they gave me, so be aware. When I had the Diamond appraised by a proffesional the diamond appraised for exactly what I paid for it. When my fiance called them, they were very very rude. These people are very very shady. I do not recommend doing business with this company. more

Bad customer service after the sale. 8/8/2007

At first doing business with these jewelers was a pleasant experience. They spent a lot of time helping me select the perfect setting and the perfect diamond for an engagement ring/wedding band. I assume now that they went through all this trouble only to get the sale. This company does not back their products. After about six months a small diamond fell out of the engagement ring setting due to a broken prong. I took the ring back and had the diamond replaced. After 14 months of the purchase another of the small stones fell out of the wedding band due to a broken prong. We had only been married for two months, hence my wife has only been wearing the wedding band for two months, but since the ring was actually purchased more than a year before they refused to replace the stone saying it was out of warranty. They blamed the missing stone on my wife saying she is too rough with it. My wife is a very dainty lady. However, I have spoken with many women since who are not dainty and have not had had a problem with losing stones(they did not purchase from the Jewelry Exchange.) After hours spent in the store working with suddenly rude and unhelpful salesmen as well as on the phone to their corporate headquarters the small stone was finally replaced. We were told that they would no longer fix the defective ring at their cost after this. Every salesman and everyone at their corporate headquarters are trained to blame defects on the customer. It is almost comical. I would not recommend this jeweler to anyone much less my friends and family. Caveat emptor. Buyer beware. more
