When my daughter was 10 I enrolled her in Jennifer Deckelman's Perfomring Arts Studio. She loved it! She grew as a person and I watched as she came out of her shell. The studio is a place where the children feel comfortable and part of a family. I have wanted to get my two kids into something for the longest time. It is so hard to afford extra activites. This studio is great---I can get unlimited classes for my girls (ages 5 and 7) for $250 a month!! It's great. Both girls can take all the classes they want. They both take tap, jazz,and ballet (instead of taking only one each). The studio is great too. I always know the girls are safe. One night I was running really late, and the teacher stayed with them and was so nice about it. As a busy mom, I appreciate that kind of sensitivity. Pros: Price and value more

I love the adult tap class! I was trying to spice up my workout and came across this studio. We all have so much fun (and it gives my brain a workout too). Mrs. D is the best tapper I have ever seen, but she really gives you the confidence to get out there on stage. She makes all of us feel like a million bucks! This place is wonderful. My daughter, 8, has so much fun in her musical theatre class. She was in dance in VA, and loves the variety this class has (they sing a little, act a little, dance a little). The class does small shows throughout the year (like at X-mas and such) and then has a big show at the end of the year (we just had the recital and loved it---full of different acts). It is all she talks about when she gets home and is really helping her make friends. Pros: Great prices and lots of fun! more

My family has been a part of this studio for several years. The instructors are kind and patient. We have taken several classes including tap, jazz ballet, musical theater and vocal instruction. The best part is that there is a recording studio in the back where my wife and child recorded some Christmas songs a couple of years back that the grandparents have played every winter. AT first I thought the studio seemed like an excellent place for my daughter to study. They offered such a variety of classes and they were unique in the area! I was a little taken aback when I realized that there were only 4 students including my daughter in both her Jazz and Musical Theater class. That should have been my first clue. However, I continued keeping my daughter in the classes until their first performance. I was sooo embarassed that I had invited my family to see what I thought was to be a children's performance. Boy was I surprised when it turned out to be more about the teachers than the students! Of the 10 numbers in the performance, 5 of them were numbers by the teachers... 3 solos were performed by Jennifer Deckelman herself and another solo by the other teacher, Jessica, was performed. Then there was an acting scene where the majority of the parts were recited by Jennifer Deckelman again. WHAT A JOKE!!! Obviously, the teachers and owners care more about performing themselves than they do about teaching the children. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I am appaled and beyond disgusted!! They should be ashamed of themselves! Not to mention that the children that did perform were VERY poorly trained! The ""veterans"" did not even know how to project or sing from their diaphrams... I pulled my daughter immediately, and I plan on telling everyone I can about what an absolute joke this ""studio"" is so they do not waste their money like I did. Cons: teachers, owner more
