Well, what happened... 1/10/2009

I hadn't been to Javalato for awhile and I went there this morning only to find out it is closed. What a shame. I saw things start to go down hill on this place back in October, but I thought it had more to do with staff than the economy. Does anyone know if there are other Javalato's in the area? I really liked this place. I'm giving it 4 stars but don't know that it matters since it is closed. Pros: Great coffee and ambience. Cons: Staff wasn't as friendly as they used to be, but still pretty good. more

new baristas far better 9/1/2008

i would guess that the person who wrote thebad review on the new baristas is one of the old baristas that got let go :( in any case i had a request and asked to speak to the manager-who happens to be a man so the person who said that the new manager is a woman and made that comment has misspoken! the place is so much better now and the new foods are prepared fresh daily- so i guess the bar did raise and we customers are better served for it! Pros: ambiance, food, coffee, gelato Cons: only a couple in the dallas area more

Best espresso and atmosphere in Dallas... 8/28/2008

A friend of mine recommended Javalato for its coffee and atmosphere. I have to say it was pretty impressive. I guess if I had a comment it would be that there sometimes is not enough chairs. It's very nice and I like the variety in coffee, tea and gelato. I see there are a few comments here about the staff, I personally thought they were rather friendly. I've been here twice in the past week and I'll be back to use the conference room. Given the noiseness and loud music that plays at Starbucks, I found this very refreshing. Pros: Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and Free Wi-Fi Cons: At peak times it seems they could use more chairs. more

I have been a loyal customer ever since the store opened in January 2006 and never once felt the need to complain until recently. The last month has been unbearable. The baristas that I had looked forward to chatting with are all gone and have been replaced with unpleasant and hard to find people. The tables are dirty and the food not only taste old but is an eye sore as well. What really put me over the edge was when I inquired about a former employee and was told by the manager that she had decided to ""raise the bar."" What?!?! Are you kidding me?!? \r \r It really is a shame to see what has happened. more

Best Frappes and Smoothies in town-and they Do have Gin Gin Tea! 7/5/2008

thisplace has the very best espresso frap ever! they also have my fav tea-the Gin Gin Iced Tea! plus i can have free wi-fi and have private gatherings in their conference room Pros: ambience Cons: wish there were more of them more

Not Sure What Happened........... 2/17/2008

This place used to be great but something has really changed. They no longer have many of my favorite items, ESPECIALLY THE GIN GIN TEA!!!! How can they not carry that? Many of the employees that took great care of customers are gone and the staff that is there doesn't seem to care. They are often rude and hard to be found. \r \r All in all, whatever has changed needs to change back fast if this place wants to have a chance of surviving more

The BEST coffee house to drink AND do business in! 2/21/2007

Amazing use of space! The Gelato is a nice touch too. The WIFI is consistant, and free with a cup of coffee, the conference room is free and you can reserve it over the phone, the atmosphere has something for everyone and it's right near NW HWY and Preston, so pretty much in the middle of everything. I wish there were more! Pros: EVERYTHING you want and MORE! Cons: Ther is only one near by. They need to franchise out! more
