Terrific service! I found the staff at Jan's to be helpful, nice, and friendly! They worked with me to accommodate my schedule and still get me in on the same day. My chocolate lab was happy and at ease with his groomer, and he looks great! I would recommend Jan's to anyone! more

Poor Customer Service 5/17/2010

Was not satisfied with the cut, used clippers all over, shaved our dog's eyes when we told them not to, Nails were jagged and still sharp, when we brought this to the owner's attention, instead offfering us anything, she just argued with me.\r \r All I wanted was a refund so I could take my dog elswhere and she just refused.\r \r Beware. Pros: Cheap Cons: Poor quality, no customer service more

I've been taking dogs to Jan's for several years. The vet has refused to see one of our dogs again unless he is tranquilized (he's the nervous/aggressive type). I mentioned this to the folks at Jan's and warned them that he may need to be muzzled for their protection. They assured me that they would be fine, and you know what? They were. And he looks great every time. Pros: good with difficult dogs more

Been Going to Theresa at Jan's for Ten Years! 4/23/2008

I have been taking my 2 dogs to be groomed with Theresa at Jans Dog Grooming since they were born. My Chocolate Lab is 8 and my Golden Retriever, who just died of cancer, was 11. She has been extremely contientious through the years and really cares about the animals. At times she has let me know if I need to pay more attention to cleaning their ears or finds something concerning. When my Golden recently got ill, Theresa called to see how we were doing as it neared her death. My Lab was very hyper when he was small and difficult to handle, but Theresa could deal with him. I highly recommend Jan's Dog Grooming! I usually make an appt. in advance and am a regular monthly or bi-monthly customer for over 10 years. Pros: Clean; experienced dog handlers; excellent grooming more

Great place for your dog, and you. 4/17/2008

Over several years I have always had positive experiences at Jan's with both our small and large dogs. I understand that they work primarily by appointment, with walk-ins as time allows. It can take some time to correctly bathe even short coated breeds, again correctly. If you want a rushed, not-so-exacting or compassionate job, I'm sure you could check out some other places. I have experienced some of those, and had traumatized animals as a result. All dogs are not created equal, some may seem nice and are not. No way of knowing which is which regardless of what the dog owner may express. The people at Jan's have many years of experience, compassion and understanding for both dog and owner. I have and will continue to refer people to Jan's for their grooming needs. Pros: Professional, knowledgeable staff. Cons: Pretty busy place, if that is a ""con"" more

Lazy people who hate dogs 2/24/2008

While driving by one day I saw the sign that mentioned the $5 toenails and I decided to bring in my dog, big mistake.\r \r I have a lab mix, he is about 8 years old. I got there at 3pm and saw at their door that they closed at 4pm. I asked if they could give my dog the works, they said that they were done for the day. They had just got done with a dog, had no other dogs, and in an hour they couldn't give my dog a bath? He didn't need much more than that.\r \r Since he needed his toenails trimmed badly, I asked if they could do it, and the lady agreed. She was just snipping it away, and not being very careful either, she cut too short on the 3rd nail, to which he cried a little and then she started screaming at him. At one point she snipped too far, it seems and he moved his head towards her, and then she started yelling at me for not holding the dog. He didn't even open his mouth, she was in no danger.\r \r In my opinion, if you own a business and you have business hours posted you will stay opened till the last customer leaves. Furthermore, you don't yell at customers, and if you choose to work with dogs, you should love them. I am NEVER going there again. more
