Good drinks. One excellent steak. One mealy steak. Both ordered the rib-eye, medium rare. Hate to make a scene so we went with it.

great food, but high prices 7/22/2011

the food is great here, but the prices are too high and the noise level is wayyyy too high! more

Great food at a good price 9/27/2009

I was in town on business and happened to go into Jak's for dinner. I had a ribeye steak with garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly, even the broccoli. I will definitely be back next time I am in town. more

Simply the Best for less! 9/30/2008

Some of the best eats in the price range. You can get the Metropolitan dinner without all the fluff and price. They have great service and food and have never cooked a steak or anything wrong when I have been there. Go on a week night for quick seating and order a drink if you have to wait. This is fine dining without having to put on a suit. ;) more

Pricey Pleasure 5/9/2007

The food was fabulous, the wine divine. The jazz background music may be perfect on a Friday or Saturday night but slow it down with classical during the slower evenings like Sunday when the restaurant isn't quite as loud and busy. Allow the Sunday diners a little more intimacy in the ambiance. The waiter was attentive without being overbearing. Though the seating immediately inside the door feels more like a waiting room rather than a place to have an enjoyable evening, the booth seating in the back is perfect for that business meal, adult family meal or romantic escape. A wonderful meal, well worth the price was served however, the wine was expensive and the pours were sparse at $10.50 a glass. more

JAK's is best 4/6/2007

Mother's Day. Anniversary. Birthday. JAK's is a great place to celebrate! The long lines out the door tell you something. There is no other like JAK's in the immediate community. If you want an excellent steak, a lively atmosphere and spunky service JAK's is the place. Several establishments surround JAK's and specialize in a place to have a tall one as you wait your turn on JAK's waiting list. Have the desk call you when your table is ready. Just don't patronize Mandarin Garden - ever - Andy you know why I wrote this... more

Perfect! 11/21/2005

Jak's is delicious!!! It is an upscale restaurant, mainly known for its amazing steak dishes. The food is to die for and the ambiance is great as well! The only problem is that they don't take reservations and the wait can be really long - like 2 1/2 hours on a Saturday night. So, check it out during the week and be willing to walk up and down Front Street for a while. more

Jak's Grill has high quality steaks in a cozy atmosphere 8/31/2005

Jak's knows how to buy a cook an excellent steak. I wish mine had more garlic, I'll have to ask how to get some next visit. Many offerings with different marinades. Good, interesting salads. Parking requires a bit of a walk and is found behind the restaurant. Very busy, reservations recommended. more

Better than the Met! 8/16/2005

This local eatery is perfect! The beef is as good if not better than the finest downtown Seattle steakhouses. The prices can't be beat. The entrées come with all the goodies, potatoes, salad and veggies. You should try the potato cakes!!! Get there early though...no reservations, but worth the wait. If you don't like waiting try an early dinner on Sunday. more

The best steaks you can get for the price. 8/12/2005

Jacks is a small place on the corner of front street in issaquah washington. It has some of the best skirt steaks i've ever had for the price. They aren't the cheapest, and may not be the best over all, but for the amount you pay, it is the best cut of meat i believe you can get. There are more pricey steakhouses in the seattle area, but if you want to pay half as much as those and still enjoy a wonderful steak, Jaks is the place to go. It also has a full bar and taps of the best beers. I haven't had too many other entree's but for steaks go to Jaks if you can. It's quite busy during most of the weekends, usually thursday to saterday its really busy. Sunday is the best day to go. more

Great Steak Place 5/4/2005

We had a lovely evening here, the service was above and beyond! I not much of a meat eater so the menu was a tad slim picking for me, but they still had a few fish entrees to choose from which was nice. My husband was extremly satisfied with the meat selections and proclaimed the steak excellant indeed! The dessert menu was also pretty good with generous helpings. Be forewarned that on weekends this place is hopping busy! So call ahead! more

Jaks is awesome 4/21/2005

If you enjoy an excellent steak, relaxed and non-corporate environment, and affordable prices then you'll love Jaks. Try the filet mignon, Mac & Jacks marinated skewer, or one of their fish dishes. For less than $20 a plate, you get the entree, salad, vege's and potato... it's a great deal. To feel like a local to the restaurant, ask for your potatoes to be done UFO... I have no idea of how this came about but it's a potato pancake with garlic-mashed potatoes on top. Absolutely incredible. They don't take reservations so it's best to go early or late. If you have a wait, try going down the street to Room 38 for a cocktail and appetizer... tell the hostess and she'll call over there when your table's ready. Enjoy! Mark more
