We recently returned from a week in Provence and had lunch yesterday at JaJa Bistro in part to recreate that wonderful experience. We weren't disappointed! We found great food at reasonable prices, a cheerful, charming ambiance and friendly, attentive service. There were dishes for my vegetarian husband and a smooth, light rosé - Provence's specialty.
You can choose from variety of crêpes, done perfectly, to my mind, recalling Paris; and a great selection of starters, soups, salads, entrés and desserts. Difficult to decide! Mussels and fries? Eggplant layered with shredded chicken in a parmesan sauce? Parisian pork crêpes - that's marinated pork loin, carmelized onions, granny smith apples, dijon mustard and cornichons - or even croque monsieurs or croque madames...
Our best dinner in Provence came on a slow December Wednesday in Nice. We were eating early to boot - 7-ish or so. The chef came to our table to make sure that we'd had a good experience.
The chef at JaJa's did the same yesterday, able to because we were eating at the end of their lunch hours. He was holding his baby daughter and talked to us about our trip and the beauty of France and food.
JaJa's is 10 miles from us, but we'll be back.
Pros: Authentic French food at good prices; friendly and charming
Cons: Far away in Old Town Littleton
