This Jahn's is one of the two remaining locations of this once big and famous chain throughout Brooklyn & Queens. The food isn't too bad, but nothing out of the ordinary. But dessert? That's a different story. Jahn's has a huge list on the back of the menu of their own specialties. Most notably the 'Kitchen Sink' which serves 8 people and contains 22 flavors. Other Jahn classics like 'The Tree' (which grows in Jahn's, not Brooklyn), 'Joe Sent Me', and 'Twosday' (two sundaes and a soda) and so many more are on the menu. The store has old booths which still have carvings from its glory days when teenagers from a nearby theater would carve their names into it. The counter is lined with amber-colored lights and tiffany lamps that read ""Moxi"" (an old cola company name) as well as other ancient wood carvings throughout the restaurant. It has one other location in Jackson Heights which is more of an ordinary diner. But this is truly a one-of-a-kind place today, so visit while it's still around. J train to 121 St.
Pros: Ice Cream Specials like no other
Cons: an out-of-the-way location
