Jacob's Pavilion At Nautica

It may be nice for people driving in from the suburbs. For people who live in Tremont and the Warehouse District, it's not. You can't shut out the noise. If you're trying to work or to sleep, forget it. There's a real zoning conflict here. During the summer, the schedule of people who live within a radius of about a mile has to conform to the Nautica's schedule. Tired after a string of 14-hour workdays and looking forward to going home early and just crashing? You have to hope there's no Nautica concert. You get up early on a Saturday morning to try to get some work done on your laptop? Well, practice for that evening's concert starts as early as 10 am, and evidently the musicians feel they need to practice with the amps turned up. If Cleveland is serious about attracting people to move downtown to live, it's going to have to reconcile that wish with the Nautica's insistence on having the run of the neighborhood. more

the smoking ban is a crippling bl*w to the concert industry (i cant say bl*w?). the last thing ohio needs is more enforcing of this law. i love the scene pavilion and the great artists that play there but i would stop coming if they got serious about it. this is an absoultly wonderful venue and i reccomend it to anyone who likes good music. Went to the Moody Blues Concert tonight.(7/22/07) We were really excited! Loved the open air forum...the boats passing by, the seagulls diving and dipping through the air. I didn't feel trapped like I do at the Q. I get VERY CLAUSTROPHOBIC there. My husband had season tickets for the CAVS....one visit was more than enough for me. I loved the Scene Pavilion and the concert.(The Moody Blues may be "old" but they ROCKED!)..EXCEPT for all the SMOKERS! Okay...I know the law is brand new...BUT where were the postings that we see at the malls, and restaurants? We had to move 3 TIMES to get away from the smokers. I had to address it with three different "CREW" attendants who were very nice and did go where I pointed...BUT what about maybe having "CREW" up and down the stairs in various positions? Then people wouldn't have to "tattle" on others. "CREW" could address the issue in a more professional way. I was flicked off and called a "female dog" because I "tattled". ARRRGHHH... I had to sit with a tissue over my mouth to be able to breath. Since we paid for tickets and it is the law...we expected to not have to deal with this issue. I am now able to venture out in public because of the new law. I HOPE and PRAY that Scene Pavilion makes a concerted effort in the future to support our wonderful new smoking ban. It is for the benefit of everyone! Even if it's not popular to all people...it should be posted visibly so there is no confusion about where you are permitted to smoke! It has the seating compacity now...its a fun place to go see a concert...you don't have to drive out to the boonies to get there...you can take public transportation to get there and the seating is constricted like Blossom....let the wild animals the roam the woods surrounding Cuyahoga Falls have Blossom, I want the concerts I want to see book Nautica. While the idea of a venue on the river is nice, the passing river traffic gets annoying when you're trying to LISTEN to a concert. The standing room only section is cool, but the seating stinks... Especially if you're in the first couple rows. The security staff does a horrible job of keeping people from standing in the walkways and blocking the views of the folks who paid to sit in the seats there.
