Prompt seating, moderately attentive service, very friendly and helpful service, rediculously pretentious presentation, very mediocre food, cream on EVERYTHING. Chef has an appalling lack of imagination. Outdoor seating is nice, but music is much too loud (it was turned down upon request), smoke from other diners was annoying. No Sangria Speciality? 7/27/2004

We are regular customers at Jackson's Bistro & gather with friends to enjoy your wonderful atmosphere of the famous free buffet, dancing to the great bands or, to the nice DJ. What I could not understand was that Sangria was not the specialty from the bartenders. Awe, NO special Sangria??? This is not for real for Jackson's sake!!! Sangria is world known & very popular in many restaurants particularly in the South. May I suggest Sangria contests. This would bring in many types of people to try them out & good for business! I will give you the best Sangria recipe, but in one condition. That you call it : ""Zita's Sangria Specialty"". Cheers! Worth a REVISIT!!!! 5/31/2003

AWESOME! I visited Jackson's recently after more than a year since my last visit: WHAT A REMARKABLE CHANGE! The staff has been retrained, the chefs have been retaught, the menu has been reworked and the decor is under an ongoing renaissance! If you haven't been in the last six months, you owe it to yourself to check it out again. Plus, they have just opened a brand new 270 degree all glass banquet room overlooking downtown Tampa! Although I do enjoy Jackson's for lunch and after-work cocktails, I was incredibly disappointed in their Sunday brunch. The food was mediocre and cold plus it was quite the expensive ordeal. For what I was paying I would have expected much better. Still, it has good views, good lunch and good drinks! Pros: Views, Drinks Cons: Buffett is bad, Pricey more

Yes, the service is a bit slow, but that doesn't matter when it comes to their brunch buffet. Open on Sundays from about 11 to 2, the buffet is one of the best values in town. After a bit of a shaky start a few years prior, this place is a Harbor Island favorite for well-heeled young and older professionals... The food is well above average, the service is good...the bar area is outtanding for ""sight-seeing"" and the outside terrace overlooking the Bay provides a nice setting... This restaurant has it all. Whether you've just spent the day shopping downtown, baking your buns on the beach, or you've decided to go out for your birthday, this is the place to go. The indoor dining offers casual to elegant ambience while the outdoor area is breezy and beautiful. It overlooks the Tampa Bay and the lights of downtown. A Real Gem 8/16/2002

I moved into Post at Harbour Island in April and go to Jacksons quite frequently. The food has always been great. I have always been well taken care of and the venue is great. You can go on a weeknight for a salad or a sandwich or on the weekend for something more high end. the club and the bands seem fun but never have really gone into the club. I tried Jacksons first because this guy on a plane who sat next to me raved about it. The food is wonderful. They just got a Chef from Oyster Catchers and the menu has really improved alot. We go there or Carrabas at least once a week. HAve always enjoyed both. Pros: Good Food, Great Service more

Nice Place 8/7/2002

Live on Harbour Island and dine there alot. Has a great outside patio and good food. Menu is reasonable price wise and you can eat a quick week night dinner or have an expensice celebration. They have from Sandwiches to Surf and Turf. The Sushi is great. Alot of more Americanized items. Service has always been good for me can't think of when I ever have had a problem. I have been a regular at Jacksons for years. The food and service is always perfect and the atmosphere can not be beaten. If you want a fun place to eat or a great place to bring buisness clients this is your place. If you just want to chill on the outside deck overlooking Tampa Bay this is your place as well. Perfect place to find your Millionare 8/3/2002

My girlfriends and I go to Jacksons on a Fridays nights fot he Band, Drink Deals, and the Men. I think all the Millionares in Tampa headquarter out of Jackson's. maybe its the location on Harbour Island maybe its the 13 Ugly Men Partys I don't know. The outside patio is great and we also hit it during the week for dinner. the menu from the Dining Room is available outside on the deck. The food is good, we always are well taken care of and its fun sitting out on the deck and watching the sun set. If you are in the single set you can find your millionare here. Pros: Clintele, Value and Specials, Great Valet Cons: Not a one more

One of Tampas better places 8/3/2002

I have been to Jacksons several times the last few weeks. The food and service has been incredible. I had a steak and my wife had a a seafood dish. They were both incredible and really a good value. Our server Shawn was amazing and very personable. We started going here because we go out alot and wanted someplace nice but reasonable. Also Sunday Brunch is the best I have seen anyplace in Tampa. A sure win. more

I don't understand all the bashing that Jackson's is taking on this site. Every time I get to Tampa I always eat at Jackson's and have NEVER had a bad experience. They just unvailed a new summer menu that is just incredible!!! The service and the food is always above my expectations, not to mention their excellent wine menu. Keep on doing what your doing Jackson's, You're MY favorite! more

Shoulda believed the warning 7/25/2002

I read the reviews and couldn't believe it would be that bad. The service there couldn't get worse. 15 minutes to get a drink and the waitress just never would take our dinner order. I watched a family get up and leave because the wait staff wouldn't even talk to them for 15 minutes. Jackson's spent too much money on the real estate and not enough on the cooks and staff. And yes the manager was trying to smooth over some issues at our table before the night was over... No wonder it was empty. DON'T GO. Pros: nice view Cons: bad service, weak drinks, bad food more
