Rockford's best Japanese restaurant 4/10/2010

Spectacular food, well prepared by pretty good chefs who avoided cutting themselves up or burning the clients. Well-defined procedures allow the service to be excellent. Watch out for waiters "forgetting" to let you know that the fried rice is $2 extra (the steamed rice is part of the meal, but if you want different...) I plan to use this restaurant more often so we can enjoy exploring the menu's fine offerings. Pros: Great food, great ambience Cons: Watch the numbers more

Definitely worth a visit 7/21/2009

I was out in Rockford for a business trip and wanted to try some teppan yaki. JMK was recommended to me by a local and so I decided to check it out. The restaurant looks great. Nice decor, good lighting. The food was very good. The scallops were amazing! Overall, I had a great experience. I plan on going again since I'm back in Rockford. Yummy Yummy 11/21/2008

We love going here with a group of people and sitting at the tepanyaki table. Especially when the chef's introduce the two sauces as "yummy yummy" and "icky icky." Great place, great personality. A little on the pricey side, but well worth the quality food and entertainment. more

Good sushi, good food, good fun 8/1/2006

I loved this resturant!! I have been entertaining large groups and small here for years!! The food and entertainment is the best around. Sushi, nippon grills and kareoke under 1 roof, not to mention the best mai tai around!! more

Lunch specials are a great value. 25% off the sushi at lunch will keep me coming back. Teppan tables are a lot of fun if you have a group. Pros: Lunch specials Cons: Can get kind of loud. more

Everything is made in front of you 8/17/2005

This place is expensive but it's worth it once in a while because the food is so good. The dinner is always filling. You get soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, fried rice, and your choice of shrimp, chicken or steak. Also they have an extensive sushi menu prepared by real talented chefs. more
