Bio: Joe Filipovich has studied and played music since he was 7 years old. He has performed on many stages such as the Fine Line Music Cafe, The Edina Art Show, The Red Sea, Wilebski's Blues Saloon and many more. Joe also teaches guitar to kids in a youth music school in the Twin Cities. His specialties include: Blues, slide guitar, classic rock, oldies, reggae, rock, modern, acoustic and electric guitar. Artists that influenced him over the years are Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, The Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, and Amos Lee. When he's not teaching music he enjoys playing with his 2 year old son, enjoying the outdoors, and keeping active.Teaching Philosophy: Joe teaches students of all ages and experience levels. He enjoys breaking down the challenges of the guitar into a fun step-by-step process and helping students learn their favorite songs! Joe incorporates a variety of music theory, learning how to read sheet music, chord progressions, and playing scales. His specialties include playing lead guitar, solo improvisation, and playing the blues. Joe also provides sheet music and homework for his students so they can constantly improve in the art of guitar playing.
