J Thomas & Co Salon & Spa

When I lived at Camp Lejeune I was lucky enough to find Jessica Demo at J. Thomas & Co. Salon. She is professional, sweet and excellent at precision cuts and color! When we moved away to Missouri I was so upset, I can't find a decent stylist anywhere. So, when I was making a trip back to North Carolina I made sure to get an appointment with Jessica. Again, my hair finally looks amazing. Jessica cares about the health and overall look of my hair. The salon is an Aveda concepts salon and I like the products and the atmosphere. They always make sure to have tea, coffee and water waiting for their customers. more

WORSE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I was told by Ebony from Straight Stylin Hair Salon to go to J Thomas because they would be able to work on my hair. Straight Stylin primary focuses on "black" hair and the owner stated that she was not familiar with "hispanic" or "caucasian" hair. I should have known from the beginning this was my downfall. Coming from New York City, and the diversity it comes with....this was a shocker. I appreciated her honesty and decided to take her recommendation. I arrived to JThomas at approx. 10 am. I was told to wait in the seating area and I would be seen. I was seen by Elena. I indicated of my thoughts on what I would have liked to do on my hair. I indicated to want a hair color all over. My hair is naturally black but due to summer weather, decided to get it lighten to a blonde color. I am far beyond an expert and simply expressed ideas of what I was looking for. She did not atest to the issue, gave me a price and start my lightening. This was on a saturday and she had other appointments.... because she ended up pushing me to the side leaving the dye on forever. I was over at approx. 4:30pm. She did bloching work and before my hair was over.... I had indicated to want my eyebrows lighten too. She stated to hate doing eyebrows but would be able to do the job. NEVER DID SHE SAY ...... I CANT DO THIS! I do not know if she is an intern or needs to go back to beauty school. She was doing some other ladies hair....I had to tell her that my eyebrows were itching and burning. She took off the dye and it was horrible! She stated that it was just the shadow from the dye and if I got them waxed it would look better. At this point, I think she was just desparate to fix her errors. She waxed my eyebrows unevenly and I just bursted into tears from the entire experience. There was no turning back from the monsterous job that was done. She kept asking for an experts opinion (co-worker) and she attempted to fix Elena's mistakes. It was tooooooo late! damage was irreversible. more

I received a gift certificate for a spa pedicure and was quite hesitant since it was my first pedicure ever! As soon as my girlfriend and I walked in we were greeted and offered a drink (soda, ice tea or water) We were taken upstairs to a little room for our pedicures. The girl who did mine was so nice, very gentle with all the little nail implements, frequently asking if I was comfortable, if the water temperature was ok, if the towels were too hot, etc. The leg massage was fabulous! Wide variety of nail colors to choose from as well. It was so relaxing and I look forward to my next one! more
