I took my Toyota Van to J&J Complete Car Care for an alignment on the recommendation of my personal mechanic. The J&J mechanic first checked my car for mechanical problems that would affect the alignment. He found and showed me a worn inner tie rod that needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, the part had to be ordered. They gave me an estimate for the part and installation. I was pleasantly surprised when they told me they did not care if I found and bought my own replacement part or even if they put it on myself, but to just let them know when or what I decide to do. I was then sent me on my way. The estimate looked reasonable but being the penny pincher I am - and not having any experience with their shop I elected to shop the part online myself. I found their quote for the part was exactly the same for the manufacturer they quoted. Their labor charge was much better than the national chain shops in the area. I did find a lesser price for a tie rod made by another manufacturer from a different parts store. The part may be of lesser quality but my van has a lot of miles so I bought it and had my personal mechanic whose shop is near my home, put it on. I then called J&J back for an appointment. I was glad I called ahead because they were swamped with business. (They do need a bigger parking lot). They aligned my Van and charged a reasonable fee for the service and unlike rip off garages like the Budget Brakes or Firestone shops, they did not try to sell me a bunch of stuff I did not need, plus, they gave me a good alignment! I found them to be straight forward, honest, and reasonably priced. I will use them again.
