Yummy Thai food 2/24/2009

Just visited today 2-23-09, same, yummy Thai food. Had BBQ chicken again and Pad Thai chicken. So good. Same dilicious calamari. I think this must be the best Thai place in Portland. No Thai restaurant has given me sush a delicious-authentic, healty, home-style Thai meals-ever. When I eat here, I feel like I'm their children-and their entire kitchen-my parents. They add the right amouht of spices and flavor. Pros: great food, great service, great atmosphere more

Decent Thai in a nice atmosphere 2/12/2009

I personally loved this place. I came here last weekend with my family and the staff was nice, decor was REALLY nice. Food was dilicious...hands down best pad thai I've ever had. I think I'm going to take my girlfriend there this valentine day. Pros: nice atmoshpere, big portions, good food, good prices, good service. Cons: nothing more

Great food, Great service 2/10/2009

I really like this place. Pros: Great food for a great price, Good atmosphere more

BEST FUTION THAI FOOD 2/1/2009

Clean modern, and very yummy. Everything was delicious. I ordered a curry that wasn't overdone with coconut milk. My friend's Bangkok Style Catfish was incredibly delicious. Fried bananas for dessert were as light as sush a desert can be. Don't miss the delicious mint soda. Prices are totally cheap but the food is not. Pros: Everything more

My FAVORITE Thai restaurant in the CITY! 1/22/2009

Love Love Love this place. I've never ordered anything that I did't like. When people ask for recommendations. I say everything. eat it all. I enjoyed eating at this restaurant. The food was awesome and the service was wonderful. You must eat here! I love the mango salad, pad kee mao, duck curry, and all their appetizers. Pros: Good food, great service more

Best Thai Food in Portland 1/13/2009

Easily my favorite Thai food in the city. All the dishes are very well made and resonable priced. Thay have the best Pad Thai and Curry. Hard to get better than this in Thai category. Pros: Great atmosphere, Good food, Free parking more

FANTASTICALLY DELICIOUS, AWESOME ATMOSPHERE AND INCREDIBLE SERVICE 1/5/2009

Best Thai restaurant in Portland 1/3/2009

Best Thai Restaurant in Northwest Portland for sure. I come here almost every week. The Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao(Drunken chef' Noodles), Thai Boat Noodle are my favorites. The Panang curry is to die for, its red curry saurce is spicy and rich. The Tom Yum soup is awesom and full of lemongrass flavor. Everything was seasoned perfectly. I was just in Thailand and this place has by far the authentic of all places I,ve tried int the city. Also portions are generous,as we had more than enough food for two people. Pros: Atmosphere, friendly service, free parking more

Yummy food, great decor! 12/23/2008

My husband and I are no Thai food connoisseurs but this place is quite delicious! The service is great, everyone's super friendly. We often call ahead to get take-out and our order is completed quickly with fresh pad-thai. I especially like the shrimp pad-thai. The fisherman's soup is also delicious. There is some inconsistencies regarding the spiciness that we request for (sometimes ""medium"" is too mild and sometimes too spicy). I also love their hot tea (the orange one). Their decor is also quite pleasant. Check this place out! Pros: Affordability, service, ambience, food quality, location Cons: Inconsistent spiciness more

Best Thai Food I've Had in Portland! 9/18/2008

Why have I not heard about Iyara Thai before? Have Willamette Week & the Mercury written it up yet because if they haven't, somebody needs to send their representative over there pronto! Pros: Excellent Food. Fantastic Service. Free Parking. Lovely Design. Cons: I think some minor touches could make a difference i.e. some candles on the tables, new music & more interesting exterior to draw people in (maybe some bamboo on either side of the doors?) more

Best Thai in Town! 6/5/2008

I love this place! It is just steps form PGE park and MAX-very convenient. Very nice atmosphere and the services was excellent. We started out with cocktails and I had a chili martini (can't remember the name). It was very unusual and I was aprehensive but glad I tried it. Watch out it is spicy! Pros: Atmosphere, location, food, menu selections, service, basically everything Cons: I wish there were more locations more

Complex, spicy, and delicious flavors! 5/16/2008

Let me preface this review by saying that if I had to choose one and only food to eat the rest of my life, it would most definitely be Thai curry. I have searched high and low for a Portland Thai restaurant I can love as much as Typhoon. And I have found it. Pros: DELICIOUS Curry, friendly service, beautiful atmosphere more

Great atmosphere, excellent thai cuisine 5/1/2008

I've now been to Iyara Thai several times since they have opened and the food get better every time. I am a huge fan of the fried rice dishes and the drunken noodles. Also, you have a choice of brown rice when ordering curries and stir-fries, which is nice for healthy eating. The atmosphere in Iyara is very sleek and cool. I love Thai food and I am happy to find a local restaurant that will keep me coming back! Pros: Thai Food, Atmosphere Cons: The parking is Free, but a little confusing more

All around good/classy Thai place 4/2/2008

The place has a great and cheap happy hour (large portions, cheap, 3 dollar beeers). The dinners are quite good as well. I've had the Bhuda's Feast, Red Curry, and the hot and sour soup, and another one that I don't remember the name of. They validate parking, which makes it easier to get to! Pros: Happy hour, service, food, discount drinks Cons: Prices on dinner are a little high more

Delicious, attractively prepared Thai food 3/31/2008

I just went here on Sunday night with my boyfriend and I was totally impressed. The decor is really nice, and there was a pink rose on every table. The food was absolutely amazing although I can't remember the names; we had some sort of crab appetizer, and for dinner I had the yellow curry and he had something with peanut sauce. Then for dessert we had the fried bananas and coconut ice cream mentioned in another review. I also had their mint soda. All of it was totally delicious! I wanted to try everything the servers brought out for other tables since it looked so good. I got my curry as medium, and it was really spicy, so if you're a pansy like me definitely get it mild. :) But my water wasn't ever empty even though I drank a ton of it, the staff was really nice, responsive and did a good job. I definitely want to come here again! The parking is a little hard, but it is totally worth it, especially since the prices are really good! Pros: Everything Cons: Parking more

lovely Pad-thai 3/30/2008

I've been studying in Corvallis for several years. I heard this Thai restaurant from my friend in Portland. Basically, I love to try every Thai restaurant in nearby cities. So I drove to Portland to try this restaurant as well. more

Great food and service 3/30/2008

I highly recommend this place. It's definitely one of the best Thai restaurants in Portland. If you love spicy food =) Highly recommend - druken-chef noodle. The staff is very friendly and the place is cozy and nicely decorated. It's also reasonably priced. Pros: food Cons: parking more

Love Love Love this restaurant 3/22/2008

I live nearby and frequent all the Thai restaurants in the area. My grilfriend and I went in last Thursday for our lunch. I ordered the duck curries and Pad Thai to share. Both dishes are excellent. i love the ambience the owner and the staff to make your dining experience a great one. We went back again for dinner yesterday. The atmosphere was romantic and the food was again great. ( We order Meing Kum for appertizer then we had the Tom Kahh, the coconu soup then for our entree we had the bangkok style catfish.) My girlfriend and i think that this is the best thai food in Portland and we should know we have tried all the available thai restaurants, the food is spicy enough without hurting anyone but if pain is your thing then mention to your waiter that you like things hot and the kitchen will do the rest .just remember to order the fried banana with homemade coconut icecream to add to your experience. Pros: Atmosphere, food and service Cons: the parking more
