You MUST go see Iva to get the best facial of your life! And at the same time, you can avoid that whole ""salesie"" experience you get at most of the spas - although she does have some great products to purchase so be sure to ask her because she won't pus them on you! Iva knows exactly what your skin needs - her treatments alone leave my skin looking and feeling SO good (to the point where strangers tell me how beautiful my skin is and trust me, that never used to happen), and the other great thing is she'll teach you how to take care of it properly in between treatments - even if you want to stick with the products you already have, she'll tell you how to get the most out of them, unless of course they are just down right bad for you. You can just feel that Iva's main goal is helping you look and feel your best. She'll spend as much time and energy as it takes to get your skin into shape. She is careful and calm yet detail oriented. I walk out feeling great inside and out everytime! more

She is great! I recommend her to all of my friends. Her space is very creative, comfortable and healing. I see and feel the results. My skin glows and it's healthy, not covered in chemicals... I couldn't imagine putting chemicals and preservatives on my face or going somewhere else in NY for a facial. more

The person who did my facial was good and didn't push me to purchase any of the products (though I plan to later on...), which was a definite plus. I would go back to this place - the prices were reasonable, and the overall experience was good. I had some quirks I didn't like, but it wasn't enough for me not to go back. more

My skin used to clog and break out regularly and this was something I just accepted until I started going to Iva. After just seeing her once I noticed a difference in my skin, so I kept going back, and going back. Absolutely no pressure from her, but the results were just amazing. She was so cool, the environment was totally relaxing, and most importantly I noticed a difference in my skin practically right away. I NEVER break out anymore and my skin has totally improved. Iva is fantastic. The environment is personal and unpretentious and her treatments are fabulous and reasonably priced. My former facialist had left the town and I was looking for a valuable replacement. A friend of mine who had worked at the same salon as Iva's before recommended her. Right away you can tell that the woman is a pro and her attention to details is comforting. She knows what she's doing and she delivers. Spas aren't cheap, if you're broke you don't go to one. This being said her prices are reasonable and definitely cheaper than in the city. I've already recommended her and I will keep doing it! more

I just moved to NY from London. I am quite happy I found this sweet place to get my waxing. Iva is brilliant, and her attention to detail is what I look for. She is extremely esthetically oriented which is something we all look for when we spend our hard earned money. I've been going to Aphrodite's in Astora for about 20 years. I live in Manhattan, and this salon is better than anything you can find in Manhattan. There are customers who come here from Long Island, Connecticut, and New Jersey. And the prices are substantially lower than Manhattan. Iva and Aphrodite were trained in Europe and use the finest products and machines. When I go to them on a regular basis, I don't have to wear makeup--my skin looks so amazing. Pros: The best facial in NYC--no comparison Cons: No credit cards. But you can't beat their prices. more

I can't say enough positive about these great ladies. The setting is soothing and clean, but not at all fussy. They do what really makes for repeat customers...they do and nice work while making you feel beautiful. I most highly recommend this shop!
