Great Food, Regular Customer, Beautiful Place! 6/30/2010

They finally opened this place in the ghost town they call the ""Clifton Promenade Shops."" We were hungry one day so we decided to give it a try. Soon after you sit down they begin stuffing pitas down your throat (good thing). Shortly after, you get an appetizer. In my case, I got the spanakopita. That was huge. It's a whole meal in itself. So after I finished that, they bring me more pitas. I really like pitas, but having so many of them was such a stuffer. I ordered pork chops and they were very good. I left very satisfied. The waiters were also very attentive. They kept coming back to our table frequently, asking if we needed anything, if every thing was okay, and of course to bring us some more pitas. I will add this to my list of regular places. Pros: Delicious Food, Interior is Beautiful! more

Everyone Should Go Here! Delicious Food! 6/30/2010

This restaurant is terrific. With a friendly atmosphere and a good waiter to complement the food, It's Greek To Me easily achieves 5 stars. Everyone in my group decided to order a bunch of appetizers and sides. They were all rather tasty, the grilled vegetables delicious, the octopus interesting and very good as well. Basically all of the sides and appetizers we ordered were well enjoyed. At this point I was stuffed, but the grilled salmon over steamed spinach with feta was so appealing that I just had to try it. By the time it arrived my tablemates having not ordered entrees were just about done but were eager to watch the unfillable stomach of mine devour this elegantly displayed dish, a juicy grilled piece of salmon placed nimbly on top of spinach sautéed with tomatoes and feta, a heaping lump of rice on the side. The grilled salmon was superb, but the highlight was the sautéed spinach, spinach sautéed with tomatoes oozing out from underneath it and feta crumbles mixed around. This was simply the best sautéed spinach I have ever tasted. It's Greek To Me is plainly said an excellent restaurant with an extended and diverse menu containing dishes that will satisfy even heterogeneous groups. As I said earlier, these 5 stars were marvelously obtained. Pros: Great Delicious Food, Service, and Atmosphere Cons: None! more

Best Food, Great Service, Great Atmosphere! 6/30/2010

I came here hearing great things from people especially within Clifton. I came as a group of four and let me tell you.....we all came out smiling. The food was great, the price was fair, and on top of that the service was unbelievable. My waiter constantly checked on me and wanted to see if everything was okay. I CAN'T believe the reviews I am reading. Do not let these reviews persuade you, they may have come on a bad day or something but I'm always here and never ever experience such bad atmospheres. The manager may be the most jovial and kind guy there! These reviews may be fueled by rival restaurants or some kind of bad relationship. The best Greek food in the area is its greek to me....especially in the promenade shops! if you want to eat something healthy after the gym (la fitness)....please go here! the food is healthy, a great price, and so tasty! Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Food! Cons: Nothing! more

Well well very stress full expirience 6/25/2010

Well I was so excited that they open this place near by my house i went with my boyfriend to have a nice and relax dinner but was completely the opposite experience i love it's Greek to me a know a few locations and also i enjoy going out for dinner but a never in my life experience such a bad behavior ... usually when you go out you don't want to see people aggravating their workers especially a manager... there is a Spanish guy there that absolutely doesn't have any idea how to treat a worker with respect i wonder why the food is not so good working under that stress they have to be a little more respectful and try to be more gentle so the costumer will not notice that something is going wrong i mean everybody has a bad day so i believe that the place have potential the only thing is change the management and then i maybe go back and try again Pros: none Cons: not a nice ambient And the managment more

It's Greek to Me 6/2/2010

I was very disappointed by the way management treated their staff... The food was okay; however, the vegetables were cut in big chunks! \r \r The manager of the store was constantly going in the back by the cooks and cursing them out. Every other word out of his mouth was ""F@ck"". I felt horrible for the girl at the cash register. Very beautiful and friendly young lady, couldn't have been a better host. Well, I was paying with cash and she gave me my exact change, which I would have expected. When I was leaving I could hear her manager cursing her out for giving me exact change, he asked her if she was stupid, she should have given me 50cents instead of 48cents. What is wrong with these people? How could a manager degrade his employees like that? How could we enjoy our food while this type of hostile treatment going on. \r All of his employees looked nervous and operated like robots because the two men (managers) were staring at them with an evil face. The waiters were pleasant and attentive but their managers treats them horrible. Somone should call the DOL on them. If one of the kids working there were my children, they would have had a law suite for the hostile work enviroment. Cons: Management more

Great Food! 5/9/2010

I have absolutely no idea what the first review was about. But this food was phenomenal and I loved everything! I'm actually going to tell all my friends around the area about it! The price is great and the service is amazing. But the food is the best part, it's delicious! You can't go wrong by going here. Definitely go next time you have a chance. It is the healthiest, one of the cheapest, and most delicious food choices in the area of Clifton, NJ! You won't regret it! Pros: Food, Service, Lighting, Price Cons: Nothing! more

It's NOT Greek to Me 5/1/2010

This is the worst greek food I've ever eaten, or should I say attempted to eat. The owners should actually be ashamed. I've never written a restaurant review before, but the food here was so awful that I feel like others should be warned. And it's not cheap either. For $50 we got:\r - Spanikopita (spinach pie) that was completely inedible. It's supposed to be a flaky pastry, but it was soggy and tasted like flour.\r - They managed to make a Taziki sauce that was both gelatinous and liquidy at the same time. I don't even know how that's possible. \r - The hummus tasted like garlic with a touch of canned chick peas.\r - The pitas were soggy with a sort of play-doh texture.\r - The calamari was also inedible. It was kind of like breaded, soggy rubberbands.\r - You have to build your own gyro, but they provided no lettuce and the veggies were almost whole. Picture wrapping a pita around a half a tomato. \r - And it's pretty sad to say that I can get a better greek salad from the pizza place around the corner. There were about 3 Kalamata olives and maybe a tablespoon of Feta cheese in the whole thing. No croutons, very little dressing, and since when are bell peppers part of a greek salad?\r \r This was a huge waste of money. If you do decide to eat here, I hope you have a better experience than we did. If you've never had greek food before, please don't start here. You'll never want to eat greek food again! And good greek food is fantastic, so don't let yourself be deprived of the real thing. You're just not going to find it at this place. Cons: Everything more
