Being a bargain hunter, I’ve got mixed feelings about consignment shops, but as consignment shops go, this is a pretty good one. It is clean and bright, and they always seem to have an ozone machine going, so you don’t get that “thrift store” smell. They are very selective about what they put out, which I appreciate, so you don’t get home and find out that your “new” outfit has a stain on it you didn’t see. On my most recent visit, I brought some things in to trade. They are one of the few, if only, kids consignment shops in the valley where you can actually get cash or credit for your trade. While their cash policy isn’t great, it’s ok. I think it is something like 30% of what they can sell it for.
As I see it, the main drawback is price. While their prices aren’t outrageous, I have found that as a price-savvy consumer, I can find a lot of things brand new for the same or almost the same price they are selling them there. Granted, I might have to wait for a sale or shop around a little, but I often prefer to wait and buy new if the price difference is negligible.
So, I’d say there are pros and cons to any consignment shop, but this is one of the better ones.
