The Island Grill is a motel/hotel restaurant. The decorations are very cheesy, depicting a tropical theme (hence the name of the restaurant), so it's not exactly somewhere you'd go to impress a date!
I'm always more interested in food than fixtures, and the food here is fantastic. I was planning to order the 10oz prime rib special for ~$15 but neither my husband nor I were that hungry when we got to the restaurant. We ended up sharing a Seared Peppered Ahi Tuna appetizer (yummy) and a Kahuna Vic's Island Breeze Salad w/ grilled chicken (double yummy).
The only downside is the service. The wait staff was super friendly, but it took forever for anybody to take our order, food to arrive etc. I'd like to give them to benefit of the doubt and assume it's because they were short staffed that night.
I'd definitely go again.
