With the new location on 291 between 385 and the downtown airport it replaces what used to be the old Dragons Den.
The sushi is excellent, fresh and lovingly detailed. Despite some of the prices on items compared to other sushi places locally it actually is cheaper! This is in comparison to the one on Haywood Rd. When you compare the serving sizes vs price it is a good deal.
Service is good. Best right after opening but gets slower later when the place fills up. Yet it is well worth the wait. The atmosphere is lively with a wide range of characters inside. I often go right at opening and can get a meal consisting of 4 orders of salmon sushimi, 2 of tuna, buffalo oysters and a salad with the wife getting her own order and be done in 40 minutes or sooner generally.
A wide range of choices to choose from! As someone who has traveled Asia on business and married to a native of Hong Kong, We both agree that it is the very best Japanese place in town. Not Kanpai style, there are others available but no one in town serves sushi with the freshness of Irashai. Having eaten sushi in Taipai, HK, Shanghai, Penang, Malaysia to name a few, none of them have matched the freshness or taste of this unique gem right in the heart of Greenville.
Pros: Ambience, parking, location and service.
Cons: Slow services when it is crowded.
