I just discovered Iolite Salon after my previous stylist moved out of state.I was particularly searching for someone who uses Wella color, as it works so ""wella"" in my hair! ;) As fate would have it, I found Marciano/Iolite online and couldn't be happier. I am absolutely *thrilled* with color and cut, and have already booked my next two appointments with him. \r \r The salon is small and no-frills, yet nice and without pretension. I was nervous, but Marciano put me at ease quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. This is going to be a unique posting, because I left my first visit with Brooklyn happy, but not DYING over how perfect everything was. The funny thing is, she's so amazing because she did EXACTLY what I instructed her to do during my visit. (I have control issues with stylists) I think she sensed my uncertainty when I left, and she reassured me that if I needed anything at all, simply to call her cell phone and let her know. Well after 2 or 3 days I did, and let me tell you, this girl is a class act. She had incredible training at Vidal Sasoon for years, and it's clear her hair skills aren't the only thing she learned from them... I called her to ask if I could come back in to have her revise one or two small things, and she was SO accommodating to me, I couldn't believe it. She never made me feel bad for a second, even though I basically asked her to re-do what she recommended me to do the first time around (I was too stubborn to concede) and my hair is flawless now. She was so sweet and professional, and my hair truly IS amazing. She took her own time to fit me in and do her job right. Really, if I had shut my mouth the first time and trusted her like everyone says to do, I could have saved an extra trip. But I'm so glad to see customer service is alive and well in Brooklyn's chair, I gave her a huge tip the second time around, especially after she gave me a great first time discount and still took such good care of me when I wanted to come back, and she didn't charge me a cent. How refreshing after years of dealing with pretentious, self-absorbed stylists. Brooklyn's got all the bragging rights in her talents, and a great attitude in service and customer satisfaction as well. I moved here 4 years ago and always fret when I need to find a new stylist. I searched citysearch for the best reviews & came across Marciano's name and shining reputation. I took and chance and haven't strayed since. I have A LOT of hair and he always knows just how to cut it to make it not only manageable but beautiful as well. He does amazing color too & is simply just a sweetheart. As long as I am here, Marciano is the only I will trust to mess w/ my locks! I found Brooklyn online and saw her this month. She is so amazing! She has such a warm smile and made me comfortable right away, it's scary trying a new hair person! My hair was so awful, I told her I hadn't been to the same hairdresser more than twice in a LONG time before she even started because I was skeptical. I asked a lot of questions, and she never made me feel bad about it. She informed me so well, and even told me no when my ideas wouldn't work, which actually impressed me. I trusted her and my hair looks SOOOO good! I've had so many compliments already, my hair styles easily, JUST like she said it would, it falls right into place!! Marciano is an artist. He has cut my hair for over 3 years and he always knows what to do. He is just really good at what he does and he always makes me feel great during and after my cut. I leave the salon feeling like a princess., with great hair of course... =)\r Totally recomend him. more

“Thao is the best of the best hair stylist out there. If you haven’t got your hair done by her, you’re missing out on looking good and feeling AMAZING. Every time I have an appointment with her I can’t sleep the night before. I get really excited to see her. Not only is Thao amazing, but she is very honest to her clients about what will work and what won’t work. Thao is really friendly and makes you feel like you are there to hang out with a best friend then your hair stylist. Beside the fact that she is an amazing hair dresser, she dresses very trendy. The best DRESS AWARD goes to you Thao. I won’t mind moving next door to her salon, so I can walk by her salon and see how cute she dresses every day. I heard Brooklyn does hair extensions at iolite salon and I went to see her because I HATE my hair. It is so fine and weak, it never looks pretty. I booked a consultation with Brooklyn and she answered all my questions and I felt so good, I placed an order to get extensions with her asap. She took such good care of me, and my hair is SO AMAZING! The kind she uses doesn't use glue or bulky bonding things, so my hair won't suffer whenever I decide to take them out (which may be never!) and my hair looks so friggin amazing, everyone loves it!! Even my skeptical mom ran her fingers thru my hair and said they feel great too. I am so excited to have the long pretty hair I always wanted, thank you SO MUCH Brooklyn, the confidence and happiness you've given me is priceless. I saw Brooklyn last week and I have never been happier with my hair. She is friendly and easy to talk to, she understood my fears and really listened to what I wanted. She gave me a really good first time discount and I will SO be going back, I have never looked better or been happier with my hair. The place may be small, but the results are HUGE. Brooklyn is not only professional and extremely talented, but sweet and personable, too. I gave her free reign with what to do with my hair. She chose a new look (that got me some compliments) without totally reforming my ""look"" or making it appear unnatural-- just more beautiful. She has an excellent ability to listen to what you want and can still apply her fabulous personal touch. You won't be sorry. Just stop, seriously. Get your bag, get your coat, walk out in the snow and go see Brooklyn! I don't care where you live, I would literally walk for miles in this snow to see Brooklyn and look as good as she makes me look rather than go anywhere else at the cost of losing her magic touch on my hair! She colors hair SO AMAZING, I will never go to anyone else. She taught me how to blowdry my hair at home so much better (no one ever teaches you that stuff) and she always makes me feel trendy and pretty at the same time. Just the smallest changes she makes, make such a huge difference, you can just tell she really knows what she's doing and that she cares a lot about what YOU want. We have so much fun; we laugh and talk with the other people in the shop, she gives me two hours of free therapy every time I see her... she's priceless!! I went to Brooklyn after a friend had been to see her, and my friend's hair told the story for her... though she was happy to give me details! I noticed her new look right away and asked where she had been. It was all I could do to keep my friend from jumping across the table in praise of this stylist, so I got her information and set up an appointment. My big seller was that my friend still looks like herself, just BETTER. I will do the same for others as my friend did for me, refer them to Brooklyn because I came out of her chair looking and feeling ten times better than before. She was friendly, so well educated and not pushy at all. I loved her and truly think anyone who meets her will too. Pros: Worth every penny more

Each time I leave Hawaii to come visit my daughter in Portland, I always look forward to getting a haircut by Brooklyn, and every time my hair looks incredible. She's personable, listens well to my concerns and has a great eye for balance and proportion. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair it makes the long flight worthwhile. I went to Marciano at the IOLITE salon and he did an amazing job on my hair!!He is an artist!!He did a great job with the color, cut and styling.I MOST DEFINATELY recomend him, all my family and friends go there now!I have very long curly hair and also very thick and most hair dressers don't even have a clue how or where to start, but he honestly did a great job!I am very pleased and calling soon to make another apointment to have him straigthen my hair and give it a special treatment....\r Thanks,\r \r AnahiE Pros: All the staff is very friendly and welcoming! Brooklyn is BY FAR the best hairdresser I've ever met!! My hair was so tragic at this time last week, my own boyfriend was blown away when he saw me today! I had really bad grow out, I waited so long because I'd HAD IT with my usual hairdresser and was waiting for my fairy-hair-godmother. I FOUND HER! Brooklyn made my hair SO gorgeous, I finally have the beautiful, creamy blond tresses I've always wanted. She listened, worked hard on making me look perfect, and gave me exactly what I needed. I called Brooklyn after a girl in my mommy group saw her and came to a play date looking like a million bucks. Brooklyn listened to me, realized I'm a mom with no time to myself, and gave me exactly what I've been in need of: a really great hair cut I can wear down or in a quick ponytail, and GORGEOUS hair color I don't need to touch up every 6 weeks. She even took the time to show me quick tricks with bobby pins I can do when I'm in a hurry but don't want to feel so frumpy. I'm pretty sure I'll be leavin the kids with my husband once every couple months though, just so I can see Brooklyn, unwind, and keep feelin like the good looking mama I am!! My room mate found Brooklyn on citysearch and saw her a few days ago. When my room mate walked in the door lookin like a movie star (and I was layin on the couch looking like a slob) I couldn't believe how good she looked. So I called to get in with Brooklyn, because I needed help like nobody's business. She stayed late on a saturday for me, and I told her to color and cut my hair however she wanted because she made my roomie so hot. She went over ideas with me and made me comfortable right away. I gotta say, I may have outdone my room mate! My hair is so shiny, it feels healthier that it did BEFORE I colored it, and every penny was well spent with Brooklyn. I was checking this place out online and it seemed pretty cool, so I tried Brooklyn and she did a great job. She listened to me, taught me how to use my brushes and products a lot better than I knew how, and she really rocked out my hair color.
