ABSOLUTELY THE BEST 11/23/2009

In the past I've always walked by without thinking about it - just recently decided to check this place out. WHY ON EARTH DID I WAIT SO LONG ?!?!?! DKNY sweater for $25, Klein for $30, and so many other great names - this is the best when it comes to getting your money's worth!!! Will hit this place anytime I require ""retail therapy"" for my soul !!! more

BEST CONSIGNMENT STORE 3/22/2009

I cannot understand how the previous posters could have had such a negative experience at Into the Wardrobe. I have been going there for the past few years and it is where I have purchased more than half of my closet. As for the owner and her staff, I could not pick out a nicer, more helpful group of women. They know names and tastes and every time I go in, I am cheerfully greeted, asked about various things in my life, and sometimes am even shown an item that is similar to one a bought weeks or even months ago. They could not be more personable or non-intrusive; they only help when help is needed, which is ideal in a salesperson. And regarding the prices, they are very reasonably marked. After all, this is not a ""vintage"" store where the clothing is grungy and out of date; it is a consignment shop, which sells contemporary and very high-end designers. I purchased a Prada sweater for $50, a Jil Sander blazer for $70, and a Ralph Lauren Black Label black cocktail dress for $45, to name a few steals. If you have never been to ITW, please, do not be assuaged by the negative comments. It is simply the best second hand store I have EVER been to and I'm from just outside NYC, so that is saying a lot. Pros: Staff, clothing, location Cons: absolutely nothing more

Great spot & great deals! 3/20/2008

Not so sure what all the negativity in the other reviews is about?? But I consign at Into the Wardrobe and Shop there, and find that the owner is such a lovely person and her staff couldn't be nicer. Her prices are great and she marks things down every month I think, by the color of the tag, so you are certain to always find a good deal in her shop. She has a discerning eye and knows what is savvy - so not a lot of junk to sift through at all. I have found that the owner and the sales girls are so helpful - just engage them and they will help a ton. They have a nice unobtrusive approach and don't jump on you when you enter the store, they let you look & linger without bothering you. Don't be afraid to ask for help - obviously the other negative reviewers need waiting on? it is such bad karma to slam another's business like they did. Try this spot out, you won't be sad that you did. Obviously I'm a happy customer, I'd say that 1/4 of my closet came from there. Try it, you'll like it! Where else can you get 7FAMK jeans, True Religion, R&R for around $58 & up? Not even on ebay! Good deals for sure. Pros: Great deals Cons: parking can be tough more

Don't Bother 2/15/2008

I have consigned with them twice and have had negative experiences both times. Rude sales help. No help with getting bags into the store. Did not send the check in a timely manner and then had the nerve to act offended that I didn't understand that I had to call them if I wanted a check. I would rather donate to Goodwill than deal with these people. Cons: rude sales staff, no parking, crammed racks more

Some good finds, worth the visit 12/26/2007

It's true that the service is not exactly customer oriented, and I have virtually been ignored each time I shop here, but there are some good things so it's worth checking in now and again. As a person who is not designer savvy or label conscious I often think the prices are a little extreme for a used clothing shop, but the trust-fund bohemians of Brown and Risd will find this a good place to swap their finery for someone elses. As for the hours, it is a Providence tradition for boutique owners to post hours and then ignore them, but this is how a person goes out of business, so hopefully it will lead to a liquidation sale. more

The best vintage shop! 11/24/2005

I live in NY around a plethora of vintage clothing shops and I still think this is the #1 spot. I will continue to come home to RI to shop here whenever I can. Disregard the first posting- this is definitely worth the trip- just make sure you go when its open! Pros: Unique clothing, very inexpensive more

Visit, if you want to be treated badly 9/2/2005

Very poor customer service. Too bad...a nice little idea, but not worth the hassle. Word of warning - store does not stay open during posted hours. Don't waste your time taking this up with the owner, she is quite pleased to inconveince you as long as she is not inconvienencd. more
