I called 1 day ahead to price check a trip, I put my name in with Jenny, I called 6 hours early on the day of the event to confirm all info and pricing... Over the phone I'm told the price is $5 to enter the cab and $2 per mile thereafter- this is a 10 mile trip (9.6 miles to be exact)- there is a stop to an atm made, the meter says $26.00 on the left under the "fare" heading and $2 on the right under the "price per mile" area, a # 1 under the fare coding/type area. I used to drive cabs (Vets Cab) &have rode in cabs numerous times... Whatever the amount showing under the "Fare" heading is what's owed correct? Why is the driver charging the $26 PLUS the $2 (per mile cost) bringing the total bill to $28? I call dispatcher "Ken" as we are riding down the highway&he says the extra amount the driver is asking is only a deposit &that I would only be charged the "fare" shown on the meter.. Come time to pay- bam! I get hit with a higher amount shown &driver refuses to make correct change! The excuse..."$2 is added to each &EVERY fare!" I call "Ken" the dispatcher again, after floundering &stuttering he backs the driver up-totally screwing me out of $2! I thought a min...then I gave over the $30 &said "keep the change! Its not the $2, that's nothing...it's the PRINCIPAL!" I don't want to pull the race card here, but on the phone the previous day, I sounded white. The pick-up location for me was a location predominately frequented by white individuals. When I got into the cab, despite my calling ahead 24 hours & re-confirming my ride 6 hours ahead of time, I was barked at by the driver "I need a $30 deposit!" None of this was alluded to ahead of time (deposits), & if I were going to rob this driver, there would NOT have been a 24hr call ahead, a confirmation call, a call to the company while riding, a tip, or this bad review I am now giving! Thugs don't take the time to make online service reviews... But apparently money-hungry, lying, racist taxi companies take the initiative to treat paying customers like CRAP!
